How come in the Why of Fry, Fry crashes into the enormous brain and then removes his helmet to spit out brain? He was wearing a helmet so how can he have brain in his mouth?

Also, in The Sting, Fry falls into the royal jelly an promptly begins to splutter, even though he has a helmet on.

Anytime you see something like that happen, a wizard did it. - Lucy Lawless, Treehouse of Horror 11

Well globviously the transparent part of the helmet isn't made of plexiglas or transparent allumunium as we all thought, but some kind of forcefield. A forcefield that prevents small stuff such as air molecules, vapour, beer, etc to pass through, but allows large stuff such as glasses or bottles. Think of the practic implications! Eating sandwiches in open space, scratching your nose when it tiches, etc.

Ofcourse the downside is royal jelly and brains can pass through, but I think we're all ready to take that chance in order to be able to pick your nose in front of the Hubble Telescope.

Or, an easier explanation is the fry is an idiot and just thinks he has brain and jelly in his mouth.

There needs to be an atmosphere for the brains to talk.
