In the first episode bender meets fry while standing in line for a suicide booth but later in "head in the polls" bender says that he has a self destruct button on his body. So why stand in line for a suicide booth at all ??

Well , probly because its more excitement than just hittin a button. I would rather die from falling out of a plane and smacking the ground than gettin injected and just "shutting down". And also to admire his own work, since his job was to bend metal for making suicide booths.

But what if he had a self destruct button in episode 1 & it was removed by the time we got to episode 2 but the audience had'nt been told because it was'nt seen as being importanat enough thus we are told when he gets a new one in episode 3 "I Roomate".

Maybee the old one fell off.
