Futurama: Categories and Rules

They're here! In this thread you will find a summary of the categories you will nominate for as well as the rules that you voted on/have been decided on by the council. This thread will remain locked so it can remain unclogged for easy reference. Please use the "welcome" thread to discuss any concerns/thoughts in the meantime, each category will have its very own thread shortly. Thanks everyone!

NOMINATING

Each PEEL member will be allowed to nominate up to 3 different submissions for each category. For nominations to be counted, they must be made for registered PEEL members who have made at least one post in their lifetime. Obvious fake submissions will be disqualified (like the user just registered a few days ago, made one post, and has a bunch of nominations from other fake accounts). YOU MAY NOT NOMINATE YOURSELF. All self-noms will be disqualified. Have some pride, yo.

After an official announcement, you will have up to 10 days to nominate. You do not have to nominate for every category, nor do you have to nominate 3 for every category. But keep in mind that the more nominations that will be received, the more diverse the results will be.
After the 10 day nomination process is complete, the nominations will be tallied by pre-determined categories specified by one of the 6 council members. Efforts have been made to discourage council members from tallying those categories in which they could possibly be nominated for (but it really is up to the public opinion, after all...)

VOTING

From the nominations, up to 5 candidates will make it to the one and final poll. If for example, say there are only 3 candidates with multiple noms each, then only 3 will make the final poll. We are not going to randomly place people in to fill spots, which could take away vote from the legitimately nominated candidates.
Once tallied, voting will begin (presumably within 3 days of nomination's closing), and will last for 7 days, meaning you have up to 7 days to vote for the candidate of your choosing. These will be single candidate polls, as in, you may only choose the one candidate you feel best suits the category.
If there is a tie in the voting, there will be a runoff poll, which will run for 3 days from the poll's opening.
Once voting has ended, a winner will be declared. They will receive bounties of cash, freshly hand-picked flowers, or a weekend alone with Matt Groening!*
