The vast majority of reasons given for nominations seemed to be "because of his/her art/avys" - clearly the only way to win POTM is to learn how to draw

Yes, you're right - technically you should have been on the poll. However, notice that Pikka Bird didn't actually nominate "TLL", or "TheLesbianLeela", but "Daniella". If he doesn't nominate you by your username how do I know it's you? - if you glance at my breakdown of results, you'll notice that "Daniella" recieved 1 nomination - I did count it, but just not as you.

Clearly, looking back on it, I should have remembered tha you are Daniella. However, quite a few noobs got nominated this time around, so I assumed "daniella" was one of them. The job of counting is hard enough already with people shortening names (especially with the three Davids on the board) - so the lesson learnt is always nominate usernames, not real names.

This was on no part deliberate, and I'm sorry for the mistake - but I'm sure you'll make it on next time.

Oh yeah ... a very old problem, that appears again and again at this or that PotM poll.
Your words should may be at the start of every nominating thread, so people will remember them.

Yeah, that's why I always nominate people by their usernames.  Still, you should have known that Daniela is TheLesbianLeela.  Almost everyone on the board calls her by her real name, not her username.

I'm totally with sheep555 on this one. The job os counting is hard enough, and mistakes do creep in. When you get people making joke nominations and using alternative names it gets confusing beyond belief. I know what the reaction will be; "Oh it's only a bit of fun", but in that case you count up the nominations and get barked at instead.
