Q: Default number of POTM candidates? A: 10

Let's see if we can find some consensus on this within a day.

If there is no obvious winner due to fragmentation, I will take the closest two answers to count for their neighbor each and see if it makes sense after that.

How about x% of number of nominated people?
Surely some month there is a bigger variety of nominees others there might be fewer nominated.

That sounds needlessly complicated. We could make it so mindbogglingly complex that nobody takes part and the winner is drawn at random by placing nominee's names into a hat, and picking one out, but we don't.

I know in the other thread I said 6 to 8, but last month's poll I made 10 by default. I'm glad it is more popular than I thought. I voted 10 too.

The only thing I'm worried about is having enough variety to make it so the people on the poll all got more than one nom a piece. If we do 10 on the poll, we might have to increase the number of noms to 5 each (like last month, when I made the poll I had no problem putting ten names on there, there were 29 different noms total). If someone doesn't want to nom that number they don't have to, but they can nom up to 5 people if they want. That's my thought, anyway.

Ten choices seems to result in too many candidates who only get a couple of votes, five seems a bit too few, so I went for seven.
