Back in the days when they had print journalism the writer had codes to use on stories,
X Meant end of sentence.
XX Meant end of paragraph.
XXX Meant end of story.

Along the way the XXX was changed to 30.
When I use it, it signifies I am not coming back here to catch any verbal abuse that is sure to follow. Terms like "attention seeking whore", bastard, idiot and yardstick.
This will let people know that I am through with this thread and their venom will be unread. They will have to follow my posts around the board to belittle me.

What's the "code" for being the kind of knobhead who uses little codes to tell people he's done with them when he plainly wants them to respond to him because as much as he pretends not to, he actually survives on people's reactions to him?

Yeah, when I'm done with people I just stop responding. I don't tell them, or drop silly  little snide remarks that are aimed at them, or make an issue out of the fact or anything like that. I just leave it and if that means they think they've won whatever argument was going on, that's their prerogative. Loudly announcing that you're moving on to greener pastures just demonstrates that you're trying to get the last word in the conversation.
