I'm sure the rules refer to the same user account being prohibited from winning twice, rather than the same physical human being. Cellery wasn't even a real person, and he won. Sarge was legally dead when he was awarded his trophy.

How can we even be sure that BC is really the same person as Jeremy?

The truth is, we can't.

I'm not I've heard it used before. It's a legitimate shortning of the word.

Actually that's me being halfway playful.  If it had dissolved into a flame war, the whole place would be radioactive.

Behold the PEELer pics thread.  I have just posted a picture of Jeremy and BirthdayClown having lunch together just two weeks ago!

Um... Are you sure that you've posted any pictures in that thread at all (let alone of the aforementioned Wingus & Dingus)?

There's going to have to be more voting in this thread...

And it's like this... if the results don't yield favorably for tradition, there's a few ways this will work.... we can throw the unspoken rules that we speak about all the time out the window with the kitchen sink; this would undoubtedly open the door for fazeshift (this period would be known as the Time of the Fazeshift) to win every month.  A mod could void the results by closing the thread and sparking the creation of another poll for the same month; the second part of that has to be done... possibly best case scenario.  One person can ignore the results, and by authority of the unspoken rules we always speak about ultimately declare someone else the winner; that person should learn how to update wikiPEEL and edit it in such a manner as to erase the fluke and error of history, as well as make next month's nomination thread (so as to edit the major list of prior winners).  That one is a difficult sell... PotM is like an oral tradition, and even if someone said things were one way, we all witnessed the actual outcomes.  Lastly, a large constituency could get together and shake the results to favor somebody more deserving of a win; with the way things are going right now this seems unlikely... unless one of you has a fake account army lying around; careful does it in these delicate situations, be assured someone's watching the ip addresses.

I want to address the concern of the moment and the outcome that seems most likely right now.  I like BirthdayClown, he's been a great guy to me, and a friend.... but I won't ever vote him for PotM.  Doing so would be disregarding one of the cardinal rules, and it's specifically because I know who BirthdayClown is... and it isn't the account thing, unless the unspoken rules which we always speak about have been misinterpretted.  It's the nature of the tradition itself... which has become to recognize as many of our closest fold as possible... Voting the same people over & over detracts from this nature, and ultimately pulls away the power this tradition holds.

BirthdayClown isn't less deserving of winning anything because he's not the best person... He clearly is the best person, but he's the best person that already won a long time ago... Deservedly so.  I hear talk of how on-topic people contribute more than others.  That's misleading... a lot of on-topic people contribute more artwork (whether in the form of pictures, sounds, or writing) than others... But they don't necessarily contribute more than somebody else.  This community is a message board and we contribute ideals amongst ourselves.  We contribute in different manners, and to a certain extent... this tradition... this PotM shows who we feel contribute most to ourselves.  With that, I'll place the reigns of the future in your hands to decide this outcome.

Just as a last aside though, I'd like to throw this out.  Have any of you ever considered the possibility that a fake account infiltrated your tradition years ago and stole the thunder without being found out?  Think about that for a moment when you consider justifying this tradition.

No. Faze has already won POTM. BirthdayClown has not (until now.)

Simple as that.

The point is that while BirthdayClown the account hasn't won, BirthdayClown the person, aka Jeremy, has.

If everyone who Randi's pubic has helped thanked Randi's pubic hair, Randi's pubic hair would be all we ever talked about.
