Oh my... it is may 04 all over again. (Scenarios of me tieing with hjs for a couple of days come up...).

Please let it be any other mod than Tweek to close it if it is a tie for several hours.
(He closed the may one right after hjs got 3 more votes and then won with 2 in front.)

I realize I'm still fairly new here, but I've never understood why people never preset deadlines for polls like this.  Say, one week to vote.  That way, people know they have 7 days to cast their vote, and if they forget, sucks for them.  Also, no one could ever complain that someone closed a thread when it was 'convenient' etc, etc. *shrug*  I'm sure this issue has been raised before, it just seems like a good idea... That's how voting works, right?

I agree with ^however you pronounce her name.  There should be a timelimit for the poll.  Vote in a timely manner or miss out.  Tough shit.  That avoids the whole "Tweek waiting till his fille du jour is ahead by one vote then close the thread" corruption.

Things like this need a set of guidelines.

POTM Rules have been debated over and over many times before.  It's supposed to remain open for 7 days, it sometimes does, sometimes doesn't.

There have been numerous issues regarding winners, losers, voting, nominating and polls.

I think the conclusion was that none of this should matter enough to complain about, as it's just a bit of fun.

In the uber-close tie between mango and gff, I'll have to go with mango. Although they're both amazing, mango would cry if she lost, and gff would retain at least some vague shread of dignity (hopefully).
