None of those people (except maybe VF and Nerdo and DavidA) nominated or voted for the PEELies last year, and we had the highest turnout out of any year.
Last year: BirthdayClown! This year: No BirthdayClown. Coincidence?

lol.
Do your best, tnuk. I laugh at your posts, even when you're trying to be serious. As for rupturing an aneurysm (medical terminology for "popping a blood vessel"), that won't happen, because only the good die young. The rest get old and bitter, like me. Nice to hear that you're back on your meds, if anything to keep you from getting banned again. I really look forward to your hate-and-bile filled posts because I just have to wonder if you're really that miserable in real life.
Yet, in some sort of macabre way, I actually like you.
And even though I like you (most of the time), you're probably one of the most disliked and least respected members of this board.
Even less respected than Jeremy.
Even less respected than me.
The last one's gotta hurt.

So for people to take that post so personally shows that they have thin skins and really need to reassess what is important in life.
Why Ralph? Why can't this be important in my life? I worked hard on it last year, and I planned to do the same this year. Why can something on the internet NEVER be important? My life doesn't revolve around this forum, I go to school, I work, I live my life away from the computer all the time - so why is it that when I do something for a forum, that involves skills that I can apply to my everyday job - should it be deemed unimportant, and I should be ashamed of taking something personal. You DID have an opinion, and it WAS personal because you are saying that everyone who put any ounce of work into the PEELies is wasting their time. How is that not offensive? You think you are all thick skinned because when people insult you here you don't take it personally? (which by the way, you do, every single time.) And I have thin skin because I called you out when you decided to put down everyone here? Sorry I have some pride in what I am doing, and that I actually give a damn. We were even trying to get a special prize for all of the winners. Clearly you think the internet is important because you are part of at least two communities. How come it can be important to you but not the rest of us?

QFT. Very well put Amy. It's a shame more people aren't viewing this thread, cause that deserves to be read.

I should get some credit for being on the council and not whining about it.

You know, I actually wrote my noms a while ago in a fit of Gold Coast induced boredom and didn't get to send them in because my lame, lame internet access bitched out.
I'm almost tempted NOT to send them in because you kids are being so damn whiny or sanctimonious, or... whatever. What I will do instead is change my nominations for most irritating poster to amy, ralph and tnuk, and then submit. Sorry, Frisco. Maybe next year.
True story, I nominated you for the same award. 'Cause all you do is whine at Chay. Guess that makes us even! Actually, when you're whining at Chay, I secretly picture you whining at Gopher. Sometimes. Because of the whole Chay = Gopher thing from the Madness. Y'know. When I remember to. I forget what the point of this post was meant to be. Anyways, thanks for the nomination. That's one award I might just have a shot at winning! I should get some credit for being on the council and not whining about it.
That's called being on the council and not putting any effort in. I guess that I won't be winning any awards or receiving a prize.
Perhaps we could give you a consolation prize... the "Kiss My Jockstrap" award for crotchetiest old man ?

Worst PEELies ever?
Just kidding.
Not really.
Heh.
Anyway, 'tis a shame, I guess. There's probably a few factors in this... several PEELers on vacation, a council made up less of "old", familiar PEELers than in previous years, nominations/voting coming during the holidays (when people generally have more real life issues to attend to), what else? Perhaps cutting the number of categories has backfired.
I'll be honest, I didn't make any nominations this year, and only checked this forum now on a whim. I could've easily missed voting entirely. I was on the PEELies council the last couple of years, and without that attachment to them, I wasn't nearly as interested. Oops.
Now, does all this mean PEEL is dying? I doubt it. People vanish on occasion (I don't think I had posted since New Years), but in general I believe the "core" will come back to this place. We've developed a fondness for this place.
Is this a place? A tube, maybe?
