I would like to complain about that guy. He's a disgrace to David Cohen.

I'd also like to complain about him. He should just take the advice when its given to him.  He is a disgrace to David Cohen.   :nono:

I know it's a double post but it's been a couple days and I need to get all of your attentions about this futureman guy. I'm sick of him. Just another worthless spammer. Starting threads about masturbating and starting threads that identical to ones that got closed down. How many warnings does he have left?

No explanation needed?

Can't say I've actually noticed Futureman, but I tend to stay in Off-topic, venturing into the "outer regions" of PEEL occasionally...

I believe this is a prime example.

Having read other people's comments I didn't click the link but apparently it isn't what is wanted here, the only reason I didn't delete it was that somebody said they'd pressed the alert button and mArc might want to know what the link was to before possibly punishing Futureman. I'd read others comments rather than clicking the link though.

Man that guy really has to look in the mirror.
I used to take critism really personally when I first started doing drama and art but now I've learnt to except them and it's helped me to improve and become a better person...*slaps self hard* Quit going off topic KiKiX!
Also I replied to a post in general discussion about 20 minutes ago and it was listed as the last post in this forum but a new thread came up in the last post and I went to it but it wasn't a new post. Do u know what I mean or are you confused.

If it's not obvious already, this shall be a complaint about that Sal guy. Who asks to me a mod and then goes insane when he thinks he's about to become one?

I'd like to complain about "Ijustgotseason1" or whatever. He claims to have read the PEEL faq 5 times, but still fails to use the search function, and starts a "Favortie Character" thread. He's not too bad yet, but he said he started watching Futurama when he was 6 years old, making him 11 at the most, so you might want to keep an eye on him.

I have this theroy that he is really a 100 year old  tortoise with A.D.D., because he seems to be a slow learner. Get it? HA HA HA HA HA! Ok I'm done.

That looks like he made a rather lame joke, if people got punished for that PEEL would have rather fewer members  :p

I want to move away from this topic as it is just resulting in one type of annoying noob complainign about another type of annoying noob. These types of problems are only minor.
I am having more of an issue with the amount of unnecessary posting that is existing. People are racking up huge numbers quickly by writing absolutely nothing. It is a huge annoyance of mine.

That brings me on to my next topic. This one might make me unpopular, but I am going to take my chances. I understand the Test Thread is meant to be about miscellaneous posts but it is getting out of control.
These are getting filled up by spam so quickly it is ridiculous. There are rarely anything of note mentioned. It is becoming a forum for stupidity.

You can blame aslate for that.  The test thread should've been doscontinued after the great PEEL crash of 2002, but aslate said that we should keep it, arguing that it'd stop unneccessary threads being created, as well as stopping spam spreading to other threads.

So the test threads continued, but as far as I can tell it's done nothing to stop the spread of spam elsewhere on the board.  In addition the test threads are reaching 20 pages more and more quickly.  I think the last one lasted about a week.

[EDIT] I checked, it lasted ten days.  The new thread's two days old and well into it's fifth page. [/EDIT]

I also agree with you about several PEELers (mainly n00bs) who are intent on racking up huge post counts.

Blame me eh?

What needs to happen is we need mods in there more often. I've seen only a handful of complaints when there is far more spam in there then there should be. Sorry to shift the blame to the mods.

Meh, they'll just pass it along to the administrators, who'll take it out on the members, and then the circle start over. It's a nice little game.  :D

It's a nice theory and in theory that's exactly what should happen. Ofcourse in theory communism is a viable economic system.

The problems come when people don't have the discipline ot police themself. You can't defeat spam through legislation, unless you're willing to use the Banstick much more prolific than is already the case. I've always said that the best way to get rid of spam is for people to restrict themself. Then again back then I had some leftover confidence in Homo Sapiens Interneticus.

Re: Test Threads

They were banned for a bit, but allowed back on the condition that once they lifespan of one dropped below a week, the ban would be back up.

Well their lifespan is currently ten days and dropping.  In a couple of months time we'll be back at square one.

[EDIT] I just saw DC1F's avvy thread in Off-Topic.  How upset do you think he'll be when finds out I'm not a spandex clad, well stacked cyclops?

Well, that's what it used to be, and I applaud you for saying so   :)

The problem itself is fairly straightforward: many people on the board don't know about the PEEL crash, many people don't even know about the test thread ban.

The best solution (IMO) would be to "remind" everyone about the test thread rules at the start of every new test, and perhaps every 5 pages in from then on (does that make sense)...from what I can tell, many people spamming with pointless junk just don't know (or have conveniently "forgotten" ) the test rules...

I didn't even know there was a condition... I just assumed we starting doing them again  :p

The real solution would be to tell more of the idiots that there is a chatroom, they can spam that up all they want.

There's still a link to the chatroom near the bottom of the page.  However as I recall the chat room section on PEEL's homepage kept breaking down, so maybe slimmy or mArc decided to discontinue it.
