I mean, it's so frowned apon when mentioned, what EXACTLY is the big deal? It's not like FOX are going to come and shut the board down, and a lot of people (myself included) are forced to download the new eps (I bought the S1 DVD's, and will buy the rest as they come out here). Stop being so uptight you prudes. (no offence)

For a start it is still illegal.

You 'd be surprised.

Edit: If we would opently discuss downloads, FOX would use any legal means to close Peel down.

Sending C&Ds to Fanpages is a favorite sport at FOX.

One big reason is to stop people coming, asking how to download and leaving, it'd degenerate and no-one that really cares will post. Fry Online started with episode downloading on it, and that was one thing that as good as killed it, no-one cared and it was as good as blacklisted.

Besides what's been said already:

1. I do know that some parties having to do with Futurama do monitor peel now and then.
2. I'm the guy behind this board and I'll have to go by my local laws. I'm not willing to risk criminal or civil charges just so some people uninterested in the rest of peel can have their download talk. Offering links to illegal downloads has been judged as facilitating illegal behaviour and not deleting content I know is illegal has been judged as making it my content. Together that would mean that I could get into trouble for your posting if I saw such a link and didn't take care.
Really the most important part is what aslate said. I've seen boards being degraded to pure "where can I download" threads.

Fox shut down nohomers.net for using Simpsons images, so I'm certain they'd try to get us for openly discussing episode downloading.

It IS a big deal, FOX CAN shut the board down, no-one's FORCING you to download eps, and I'm the only uptight person here.

Other than that, you make a persuasive argument.

Alot of PEELers do download episodes wether they live in the US and can't watch it due to American Football or they don't live in the US and it's the only way to see it. We just keep it seperate from PEEL.

EDIT: Just saying this to show that we may do it, but we did it before PEEL aswell as now. It shows that it's not us being uptight, but we just don't need to/want to talk about it. It won't generate much discussion.

That still doesn't mean you're being forced to download episodes.  It's your own choice.

Fox shut down The Futurama Outlet for less.

Also, this is a private website that happens to be a message board, not a unregulated newsgroup.
