ok, i am faced with the fact that everyone here hates me for no real reason, i have accepted that, but, i think that everyone who has never even seen any of my posts is just reading other peoples posts about how they hate me, i don`t think this is really fair to me

if it would be possible to change this name while keeping the account, would someone please E-mail me with the details?

otherwise, if this isn`t possible, would someone else e-mail me and break my heart?

You said you only got a few posts in on your old accound about a year ago, that and alot can change in a year. I don't think you need to rename (That and you can't anyway), just start posting reasonable stuff and use proper English/Grammar and you'll be ok.

Well, technically, you CAN change usernames; from what I know of ancient UBB-style CGI boards such as this one, the accounts are just stored in text files, and changing a username is as simple as editing or renaming a text file.
It's just that the admins won't do it. Besides, changing your name won't help - changing your attitude will.

I think mArc have been messing around with the code a little too much for it to work. From what he have told us, the board code is only a shadow of it's UBB origin. When Nix became moderator he had to reregister as Nixorbo, since the board couldn't handle his old name (Nixon + Morbo = ???) for some reason.

So, yeah, you have to get an interely new account Hypno Toad.

I don't mean any trouble, but I've been trying to upload my new signature and it doesn't seem to work.  It's a little over 14 KB and 110 pixels high.  However, when I go to upload, it says "Your signature was successfully uploaded" and shows a picture of my old signature.  I'm quite confounded.  Do I need to alter my signature?

That's just because your old one is cached. It should work when you post with it.

I'm finding that it's much harder to follow the threads without the last person posted item.  It's hard to know if someone else has posted to the thread.  This has meant, several times already that I've opened a thread from the last posted time thread, just to find out it was my last post.  I think that, unless I'm very unusual (I am, but not in this case), bandwidth usage will go up quite a bit for the board as a result of this feature being disabled.

Maybe there is something else that could be sacrificed instead?!?  Just a thought.

Just wondering, but why exactly does the signature picture have to be under 120 pix, and under 14 kb?

do you think this may be extended in the future, mabye up to 150 pix and 20 kb?

The limits are set because not everybody have a 1600*1200 monitor and a 2mbit cablemodem.

An example is Hypno Toads doublewhammy picture sig. I have a 1280*1024 monitor setting, yet his sig take up about half of my screen. Imagine how the 800*600 users feel. Although the pictures get chaced, there's still some bandwidth and download time to consider.

As for relaxing them.  Uuuh, over to you mArc.

I realize it was taken out due to bandwidth problems...but I really miss 'last reply by'...


I find myself having to load entire pages a lot more cause its gone.

Hate to say, but Jon has a point.  I know jack about script, but I've done enough computer programming to know there's only so much you can fuck about with an existing piece of code without all sorts of problems developing.

So I couldn't help but notice that right after the last really annoying newb, we get another really annoying newb, Satan.  Two quick IP checks later, it turns out that said Newb Satan and said newb Hypnotoad have the same exact IP.  So either being a complete jackass runs in the family, or someone's not as clever as (s)he thinks.

I think it's really time the mods were given some kind of banning power. This crap's getting out of control.
