Right. Using your image editor (hopefully PSP/Photoshop) you need to convert it into a full colour image again (as it's currently 256 colours).
In PSP it's colours->Increase Colour Depth->24bit
Now resize it. 64x64 means 64 pixels wide by 64 pixels high.

sadly no id like to get photoshop, my freind has it the i could make sigs and stuff, maybe evn cool lookin webpages, like this one. all i have is paint. I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW TO USE FREEFORM SELECT

Anywho, you need a place to host your picture and a FTP program.

Direct pictures? Oh god! A basic explanation, read the thread already linked for details:
1) Get a free netfirms account
2) Get a free FTP program
3) Upload the appropriate picture
4) Using the IMG tags, type in the following
[IMG]http://www.username.netfirms.com/filename.gif[/IMG]
Changing the username to your username and the filename. Be warned, these are case sensitive, so only use CAPITALS if the appear.

If you want a signature on PEEL which shows up when pressing 'Show signature' on the reply button do the following:
1) Go to your profile
2) Upload the picture to PEEL
3) A code will be generated. It will be a series of random numbers
4) In the signature box (on your profile) put the following:
[SIG]123456[/SIG]
Replacing the numbers with your generated one

Note, only one picture in a PEEL signature, can only be .gif .jpg or .png and needs to be within certain size limits. Text can be used along with the picture.

To post it it's to right-click, image properties and copy the URL. Yours is:
[img]http://www.peelified.com/ubb/avatars/LeelaStripJBark_Jul.gif[/img]


For a siggy, you have to upload it, since IMG tags are not permitted in signatures.

You send your avatar to drippy at
peelavatars@yahoo.com
and ask for it to be custom. That's if it's one you've got on your PC. If you want a public one it's in your profile. A custom one will be 'custom' in the avatar list.

First, upload it somewhere one the web (and not GeoShitties or Angelfire or Tripod), then use the following formula:

without the extra spaces.

In offtopic, people are complaining about their avatars not being uploaded yet.

I know Travis is only one person, and he does one hell of a job, but don't you think there should be more people taking care of avatars?

I've managed to make my own avatar and all, but noticed that it's around twice the size in bytes than all the other avatars (i.e. 4Kb instead 2Kb)
Is there a easy way of reducing this size without reducing the picture quality too much, or is 4Kb still acceptable?

Here it is as it currently stands. I've got a feeling that while it is a .gif and fits those contraints, it does use many more colours than normal avatars.
