Because, if SOME PEOPLE didn't go out of their way to dig them up, they'd never be seen anyway.

It's not all old threads anyway, some return and get a few more pages, others are best left to die, as just about everything that can be said on the subject has been said.

I don't mind if a thread is resurrected by someone who actually has something to add to the discussion.  Things like "I posted that a year ago," or something similarly meaningless will be a) deleted, with the thread will left open, if me, or b) be closed, if anyone else.
