At the bottom of the main page it tells you how many users are online.
We should have a thing to click on to find out which users are online.
The feature is on another forum I use, and it's handy. When you're waiting for a reply from a certain person, it helps to know if they're even around or not. It also assists with the fine art of cyber-stalking.

I think it is a standard feature in Simple Machines Forums, I mean the Madhouse uses the same software.

In fact, the list is available here on PEEL:  http://www.peelified.com/index.php?action=who

"Sorry - you don't have the proper permissions to view the Who's Online list."

Eh?

I was trying to make the point that the feature already exist, all [-mArc-] has to do is hit the switch.  However, since this feature is enabled by default, I assume our administrator have a reason for why it is not enabled rather than the opposite.

It's been disabled in since PEEl1.0. Not everyone wants to let everyone else know when they are surfing PEEL instead of working, sleeping, etc.

I am sure SMF has an "anonymous" feature.  Most board software does.  It basically means the system won't show your current position to everyone -- except staff.  It is usually upon log in you can turn this feature on or off, but also in your control panel.

So if people have this concern, I'd say they should this feature instead.

Yep. A few of the forums I post on have that option. Because while some folk want to lurk and be voyeuristic, most would probably like their friends to know when they're present.

Maybe we should just start a topic called "who's online" and then we can check in and out in that topic just to clarify to everyone else that we are online or offline.
