CounterPEEL works. So does NonPEEL. I like NonPEEL. We can seperate everything into two groups, PEEL and NonPEEL, P and NP for short.

Can you prove that P = NP?  Or more interestingly, that they are not?

Edit: Any chance we can have a discussion about adopting Gopher's rank icons?

I don't see the argument that people will become obsessed about their ranks holding much water.

1) We have a thread for that; any and all posts relating to such things can go there.
2) People who stay here (some being for almost a decade) have no inclination to spam just to boost their rank, and if they do for some reason have that inclination, the rank icons won't change it one way or another.
3) We have capable mods to clean up garbage.
4) It's something neat, very professional looking.... and well... Futurama related which would make the board look nicer aesthetically on the whole.

To which icons are you referring?

Dunno where the thread went, but I assume he means these. Was never happy with the leg mutant icon for urban legend though, just couldn't think of a better idea.

I'm fairly sure it's not going to happen, but then, marc rejected them at the same time he was rejecting the emoticons, some of which he recently accepted, so maybe he was just in a bad mood that month...

Them be some interesting icons there, Gopher.  I kinda like the flashing stars/medals from the immediately previous version of PEEL.

I like the feeling of our current ones... but that's merely my personal opinion.... the circle for that smiley would probably be the only part that has to be the same size, and then have the brainslug stick out.... a dopey face and green drool would be possible.

I have a suggestion for a color scheme.  Let me first say that I love PEEL.  It is by far the most aesthetically pleasing forum I have ever had the privelige to post on.  That being said, it would go against my nature to not offer suggestions for improving something that already works perfectly fine as it is.  :)

Anyhow, I thought that PEEL would look really cool in a green and red color scheme - specifically the green and red of the Planet Express ship.  The background would be electric mucus (maybe with a slight gradient), and the horizontal title bars would be red.  What's weird is that those two colors don't ever make me think of Xmas when I see them on the ship, which is brilliant color choice on their part.

I know there probably isn't much incentive for any changes, seeing as how it already works and looks great as is, but I figured I'd offer up an idea anyway.  Thanks for reading.

It would certainly make a rather good color scheme for a futurama related website.  However, PEEL blue is a staple of PEEL.  It's rather odd that an unrelated color to the show has come to represent the inhabitants of such a message board about such show.

Ah, I see.  I haven't been around long enough to know that blue is a tradition, and blue isn't totally unrelated.  One could argue that the blue light rays behind the Futurama title makes the connection.  :)  Thanks for considering anyway.

You're probably right.... I never think of it being a futurama related color.  Mostly it just reminds me of my dead parents come to think of it.....

Blue is the color of the sky...the thing they must enter before they escape from Earth's atmosphere into space...i'm not speaking for all planets just where they're based, Earth.

Is there any way that the Help page linked to from the Help button could be made more PEELcific?  I know there's a way, and I'm thinking it might look nice to include basic information or just link to guides describing our unwritten rules.  How helpful would it be.... well I don't know... but we already have a help button, and somebody probably clicks on it.  Smart new users might take advantage of using it though.  I'm not suggesting it should be a priority, but it's just a thought.

Now it's transparent:

I prefer this one to the facepalm. For some reason, I think it's "more PEEL" than a facepalm. It's something I can actually imagine [-mArc-] adding to the list, and a facepalm just isn't, for whatever reason.

I'd also think of it as a generic "D'oh!" smiley rather than "facepalm".

IMO, a smiley that could be useful is an alternative to the   smiley. I mean,   does its job well, but there are at least two situations in which an alternate would be desirable. One, when you have something that you wish to express a certain amount of affection for without going overboard, and two, when you wish to convey that your heart has been shattered beyond repair by the callousness of your fellow PEELers.

I know they're not PEEL-type smiley faces, but I think that the breaking heart in particular would get a lot of use in On-Topic. Plus, I enjoyed making them. Breaking hearts is always fun. :evillaugh: :p
