By the way Worble, just so you don't get confused the way I did when I first got my custom avatar uploaded, after Slimmy CGEF (admin) uploads it, you gotta go to your preferences and change to the custom avatar you selected.

Well, grabs aren't allowed in the case that you just take it, cut it out and resize it. But FrameGrabs are mostly needed for scans, and that is how avatars should be done.
Scans look so much smother that cropped and cut out framegrabs, also they don't have the jpg-artifacts cut out hold.
That is why you should try to scan (retrace/draw) the framegrabs, and not just resize them.

I was using the Framegrab she provided for the teen Fry. It's a CGEF-Framegrab, not really detailed, but good enough to do scan-art.

If you don't know what that is, look here: aslate's Scan-art tutorial. By now we don't use point to point lines anymore, but bezier curves, since they are even smother than normal polygons.

That looks as if your resizing algorythm doesn't work.
Are you using one that resizes by pixels (deleteing pixels till it fits) or one that merges pixels together (smart-size on PSP). The 2nd one is the best solution. Try if your software is capable of doing that.

Heh, awhile ago in this thread, or the one before it, I mentioned to a newbie that animators here can't be animated, but I was gonna point out th one-and-only guy that I know of who has an animated avatar, but I couldn't find him. But now, due to a pointless thread bump, I have! His name is reedy2 and he has this avatar:

I know it's not heavily animated or anything, but what gives, he's the only one. Did he sneak it by or something? Or, was it to early to have the avatar limits set in stone? Or did noone give a crap and I'm just making a big deal out of this?

It's simple really, he posted, got his avatar, and left PEEL before the rule was instated.
