Please post actual complains that you would like mArc to read. These can involve problems with PEEL service, features, etc.

This should not include flames about other PEELers; "advice" on which PEELers ought to be warned, banned, or killed; repeating complaints or requests already addressed by mArc; or any other really annoying thing that I'll have to waste my time deleting.

For annoying spam complaints please see this thread (which I will advice mArc to ignore) or get a life.

For complaints about another member please use the alert button at the bottom of the offending post.

Is there a reason, as to why "& i m a g e" (Minus the spaces) turns into a &image once edited?
It even does it in the
Code: [Select]
brackets.
I must have edited that post in the ninja thread at least 20 times, it was really starting to shit me.
Normally, i wouldn't complain about something as small as this, but with the growing number of people using imageshack, i thought it might be worth mentioning, as they use the offending string in thier clickable thumbnails.

That's not a PEEL thing really. PEEL leave the "& image" intact, but Mozilla/FireFox decodes it as if it was "& image;" which looks like ℑ. I don't know why they do that there though. Might be because many webpages use incorrect HTML entities and they don't want all those pages to break.

How is bringing a shit user to the attention of the board not an actual complaint?

So you're in favor of keeping the trolls, but want to ban people who annoy you? Fascinating.

Oh I don't need a long explanation: we don't want the board to turn (even more) into the FOX boards, so we ban trolls and keep the people with potential.

if anything I should also be complaining about you because you kiss so much moderator ass it makes my stomach...something bad...

Yeah, because THAT'S constructive.

I everyone was banned that you've bitched about, the only person left on this board would be you.  Every day you're complaining about someone new.  That's not constructive at all.  And let's face it, annoying you isn't really all that much of an accomplishment.  Chances are that the real idiots get bored with PEEL in a couple days anyway.  ADD is like that.  What deserves banning, anyway?  Poor spelling?  Say goodbye to Nurdbot, in that case.  Being a jackass?  Byebye TLI, GPT, TNUK, Nix, Ben, etc.

EDIT: In an attempt to reregister with a new username (bored of this one), I've discovered if one hits the "submit Registration" button, they get to a blank page and then nothing happens.

Continuing behavior got one thread closed in another is as bad as starting a new thread when a rubbish thread is closed.

This thread is for complaints about the board's operation not its members, if you don't like the way a member is behaving press the alert button, if nothing gets done it is safe to say mArc didn't think the person deserved banning or suspending.

There is an alert button at the bottom of each post displayed on peel. It looks like this in case you were wondering:

Actual complaints about offensive or annoying posts/members should be addressed by using the alert button. Bitching on PEEL about another member is NOT constructive. Yelling at a PEELer for ranting about another member is also not constructive and you oldies really already know this. Why on earth you insist on acting like 5 year olds is beyond me.

If you have some kind of yellow button phobia you can also shoot an IM or email to one of the other mods. (TLL has IMEd me a few times in the past for the purpose of pointing out a thread that obviously needed to be closed. THIS is an example of helpful "complaining.")

I decided not to delete the recent posts that were ranting about other members. I just cleared them out so they don't take up space and distract from legitimate complaints. Also this will allow me and other mods to have a better idea of how many such posts are being made and who is making them.

Thanks!

why was the other complaints topic closed i want to know because i was mentioned a few times
anyway thanks for clearing the comment on this page about me velour fog
my complaint is that when you edit your post i think there should be a box that you can tick to add your signature because maybe someone quick posted or they didn't tick the box first time around.
also im strongly in favour of having an add signature box next to the quick post.

Edit. question for the mods, if i opened a flame everyone thread would it be closed

The very idea with quickpost was to cut down on signatures, so they wouldn't take up more than half of the page. Well, it was one of the ideas.

I'm not a moderator, but I can assure you, without a shadow of doubt, the answer would be: YES!

The other complaints thread was closed a couple times. The first time, it was my fault. The second time, it was my fault. This thread almost got closed due to something I did. Basically, if you ever see a complaints thread get closed, blame it on me and I'll keep quiet unless it wasn't actually me.

Late edit: You know, speaking of flame threads, someone tried this before.

OK I have an actual complaint-type thingy.  Is it possible to make the avatars in the profile section viewable to Firefox users?

The drop down box should be working now, but i didn't immediately find a way get the avatar list page to set the avatar correctly in Firefox.

Looks like something is broken. A regular member (ie. a non-moderator/Ubermod/admin guy), made a new thread in Information Booth, were only Mods have thread-privileges. Are the wlls between Mod-world and PEEL-world coming down, is this the PEELocalypse? Or just some broken code?

Looky.

Edit: never mind, SJM told me how it originated in Off-topic. But you gotta admit the PEELocalypse line was funny.

Hiya, BBR has done nothing obsess over the fact that half the board has communism or socialist feelings since he joined, we ignored at first but then he spammed a topic up slightly and then created his own pointless topic about it. Give him or warning or send him off.

Several other PEELer's feel mutual about this.

I have a question about the alert button e-mails.  Do they only go to mArc, or are slimmy and the Mod squad able to read them as well?

I pressed the button on you, this is what happened:

A composed email opened in my email client

Send to: marc@peelified.com
Subject: [PEEL] Topic-Alert for Forum 13 / Thread 000276 / Post 37
Message: URL: http://www.peelified.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/000276.html#37

As you can see it only goes to mArc. Obviously I didn't press the send button though  :p

Is there any way to change it so that alerts go to both admins and all the mods?

I think Fred has a valid point here.  The reason why so few people hit the "alert" button when someone's trolling or whatever is because they know mArc can't answer them immediately.  mArc's hardly online (apparently), so sending him alert e-mails doesn't really do anything.  By the time he checks his mail, it will be too late to fix the problem.  But if the alert button alerted mods as well, it's more likely that one of our 5 mods would respond quickly.

I also agree and think it's a weakness in the system. You could either have an email all mods function, or it emails a shared account that they can check to prevent personal emails being flodded.
