I would've made this thread earlier, but my computer was having problems all day, I finally was able to fix it.

It was on this day, Aug 10, 2003, that we said good-bye to one of best shows ever.
I taped that final episode and I remember the promo they had:

"Will Fry get Leela?"
Then we see the scene where Tinny Timmy is handing a newspaper to Leela and it reads, "Final Futurama" just for that promo.

The announcer then says, "Tune in tonight for the final Futurama."

The first time in years FOX promos an episode and it is the final episode.  FOX saying "screw you" to every fan that tuned in to watch.

Since then, what have you fans done to ease the pain?  What do you fans plan to do make people remember Futurama?  I for one will send anchovies to FOX for AFF and thus be able to say "screw you" to FOX.

A truely sad anniversary....

To comfort myself, I have bought the DVDs and experienced those great episodes again and again.

My friend and I took a moment of silent to remember our memories of Futurama. Until Raging Bender returned from commercial.

I cry my heart out today. This is such a sad & depressing day for me!! And everyone else who agrees.

Aside from coming here, I've primarily just bought the dvds obsessively and watched episodes, commentaries, and extras over and over again.  Best way to celebrate a great show is to spend time with the show itself.

R.I.P. Futurama.  May a feature film one day give you a last hurrah.

You know, I reviewed some of the episodes I taped on FOX and I remember the anouncer saying.

"The LOL party starts tonight, with a brand new Futurama."

FOX had Homer say, "Doe...I mean, Woo Hoo", right after Futurama was introduced.

Precious memories sweet sweet memories, gosh I can't help but think about Futurama it's the only thing I watch.  Living, friends, and Futurama is all I do or care about these days.  I wish we could at least tell Matt Groening or the actors how much we appreciate
 the show other than watching it.

Ah, the sweet Futurama. It feels much like losing at loved one, to celebrate one whole year with it dead. Today I mourned, for the most part. I remembered happier times, when I'd come home from school, play with my friends, eat dinner, then watch/tape my beloved show. It was pure magic. I never thought it would be cancelled so soon. What was it, 2001, when it was announced? God, what a kick in the face.

August 10th, 2003 was a sad day for human kind.

Atleast there's still the season 4 DVDs to look forward to. Well, for a lot of us anyways.

Just be prepared to tell FOX, "screw you!" with your anchovie cans.

Wow, it's been a year already... So sad... If I would have known that it was today, I would have watched some Futurama instead of Stargate... Well, there's still about 20 minutes left in the day *pops in the first disk from season 1*

I liked it better when we were celebrating the start of the show back in March rather than the death of the show. This thread just makes it all depressing.

Yes, it's been dead for some time so really it's just an anniversary and Futurama wouldn't want us to remember it like this, would it?

An unfortunate anniversary, but at least we have all the eps on DVD, and new merchandise continuing to come out  :)...

Hard to believe it's been one year (and one day). Let us have a moment of silence...

Well, at least I have the season 4 DVD to look forward to. Still, a sad day for humanity (well, at least the PEELers, who I suppose can count as humans--but that's pushing it  ;) )

Agreed, I think its sad and all, and its okey to remember the death of a beautiful show, but instead of sobing in sorrow, we should be greatful FOX didn't really screw us fans over, and made DVDs so we can watch any eppisode we want.

message to anyone who lives in N.America! dont rip the DVDs, save some money and buy them! Make the last season have a tremendous sale rating! anything at this point that could help in (and if) any small way for the show to return.

Friends, PEELers, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Futurama, not to praise it;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interréd with their bones,
So let it be with Futurama…. The noble Berman
Hath told you Futurama was a failure:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Futurama answered it….
Here, under leave of Berman and the rest,
(For Berman is an honourable exec;
So are they all; all honourable execs)
Come I to speak in Futurama's funeral….
It were my friend, funny and dear to me:
But Berman says it were a failure;
And Berman is an honourable exec….
It hath brought many adverizers home to FOX,
Whose payment did the corporate coffers fill:
Did this in Futurama seem a failure?
When that the viewer were bored, Futurama hath entertained:
Failure should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Berman says it was a failure;
And Berman is an honourable exec.
You all did see that on the Adult Swim
They thrice examined the ratings of adults 18-45,
Which it did thrice top: was this failure?
Yet Berman says it was a failure;
And, sure, she is an honourable exec.
I speak not to disprove what Berman spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love it once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then to mourn for it?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason…. Bear with me;
My heart is in the coffin there with Futurama,
And I must pause till it come back to me.

Don't worry gang! I've hired enough mourners for everyone!

Poor Futurama. It was a cool show. And my most recent obsession.
