Last night the studio had a wrap party for production season 3 (they just finished the last 03xx episode that came back from Korea). It was held in a nearby billiard bar that had like 30 pool tables & a few foozball tables & an air hocky table. It was an open bar so everyone pounded down the drinks. Matt G. & a few writers had the pool table next to me & a few friends, but we left them alone to enjoy themselves. I wanted to tell Matt to thank Mike Scully for getting me a better job, but I think he would've been confused about the whole thing.   :D

Cool.  You mean they just now finished making the last season 3 episode?  That's what 03 means, isn't it?

Yep, season 3 just ended. (Sorta the same thing with the Simpsons.) "Production" seasons are not the same as "TV" seasons. The fact that we're hard at work all summer long should give you a hint.  ;) The main thing to remember with production is "hold-overs". The last 4-or-so episodes of a script/production season are geared to open the new Fall TV season, or drop in somewhere around there.

Wow, Sarge, working on Futurama AND partying with Matt Groening. Just sooo jealous,  :)

Anyhoo, hope you had a good night.

And why wasnt *I invited* ?

Well, I bet I couldnt get in because of all the booze, but I could have stayed out side screaming "HEY! You! Yeah! You from futurama! Gimme an autograph!"

That's the paradox. When you got someone famous near you, you feel really bad about invading their privacy. I do, anyway. Fame can be a terrible force.

It's a weird thing I never thought about till I got in this industry. Someone like Matt doesn't want to be famous, but respected instead. But fame doesn't draw a social line there. It's a very tricky & nerve-wracking situation.

Yeah, I totally agree, and when I met matt... at comic con and two other places, I tried to be as nice as I could, and kindly ask for an autograph.    :)

Like moth to a flame we are drawn into fame until we crash and burn.   :)

I hope if I ever meet someone from Futurama I would show the same kind of restraint that you, Sarge, and bart182 have. Just being pćolite.

But whats the chances he's ever gonna come to Denmark.   :(

Edit: Hey, congrats on your new title Bart182  :D

Thank you!  :) And I mean that, too. Be as polite & 'short-spoken' as possible to celebrities. If for nothing else, they'll remember you for that. Can you imagine being famous, & some nerd at a convention talking their head off for 30 minutes about stuff you know much more info on?

thanks teral, I didnt even notice it :P

When I first met Matt, at a very very small "staff discussion", he was cool and very very nice.  At the end of it all, he drew for me a picture of bender and signed it to me.  I didnt really talk to him, I just asked if there was going to be a planet express ship made (a toy) and I told him how much I really love futurama.  And then we had to leave (me and my mome).  But at comic con and the hollywood walk of fame (the othet two places I met him) he seeemed a little up tight.  Maybe because there were so many people asking him questions, along with wanting autographs and such.  Although he seemed to enjoy it.

Besides from matt, I must say that the friendlest people from futurama are david x cohan (really really nice guy that I talked to twice), billy west (I didnt meet billy, but my mom did, and she said he was really sweet), maurice lamarche (really cool guy that does the voice of kif and morbo), phil lamar (I asked him why he is so mean to zoidy, and he said that he deservs it :P.  He also was really cool woth signing some junk I had and taking two pics with me), and john dimaggio (he was outside in the hallway leaving, but I cought him just in time to get a picture with him and an auto.  He was really nice and friendly).  I'm sure the rest of the futurama staff are nice people also, but I didnt really meet them.

Ok, thats my two cents... Sorry if my grammar annoyed some of you, but its 1 AM and I need sleep.  And ruben isnt helping me stay up in #fc.

Man, I am a jealous bastard. I wish I could go to big fancy conventions and parties to meet Futurama type people.

Phil Lamarre(sp?) seems like a cool bastard. I always thought he was funny on Mad TV, even when the writing started to suck I thought he did a good job with what he had. It's good to see him getting big in the voice acting circles(he's doing a bunch of cartoon network type stuff too, I've noticed). David Herman too.

Isn't she the cutest thing?  ;)
My lab coat is 'feasty' because of all the moldy food that's clinging to it.

On another note....against by better judgement, I saw the 1st color of 0401 today at work. I didn't realize it was Wes Archers' 1st show to direct on Futurama. I thought he was working here longer than that. But I forgot he was on King Of The Hill till recently.
We all cracked up a lot during the screening. It's a relatively mellow show. Lot's of conflicting emotions because of the twisting of 'norms'. But it's funny as hell. Farnsworth & Zapp had some of the best lines.

Tickets? Tickets to what? The cast doesn't perform live on stage. Wanna try getting into TV, etc., apply for a job as a PA (production assistant). Better know something about Business & Management though. Or camera work. Or sound work. Or drawing. Or post-production (Avid, Maya, etc.)

Hey Sarge, you're old, right? And most of the people here are young teenagers. You could take one of them during Take Your Daughter/Son To Work Day. Then they can annoy everyone and learn about the new episodes and post extensive spoilers on the internet.
