tonight on adult swim, they were airing Leela's Homeworld. before the commercial break, they mentioned that this episode won an emmy for outstanding animated programming. i thought, "what? this episode didn't win an emmy!" then after the commercials, they said that "in this episode, fry kills his own grandfather, then in order to be born, becomes intimate with his grandmother." that's right: they were describing Roswell That Ends Well, the episode that did win an emmy.

did anyone else notice this? or was it just my local cartoon network station? or am i going completely mad? probably the last one. oh well.

I don't think thats quite acurate, though. Fry didn't realize that in order to live, he had to have sex with his grandmother. He just did and found out afterwards.

Yowza, nasty mistake there. Although at least you still get to watch Futurama on TV, I have to make do with my season 4 DVDs.

I noticed that.  When they first started talking about that episode winning an Emmy, I was thinking, "Wow, I didn't know that one won an Emmy!"  Then they went into a description of "Roswell That Ends Well" and I realized that they were showing the wrong bump.

Pitt's right though.. At the later broadcast it was fixed. Something about "What if Leela had a father" and "Al Gore's daughter wrote this! Seriously!"

"Roswell that ends well" aired last week, so I guess they just held over the swim cards...but when I saw them my reaction was also "hey, this one didn't win the emmy!" and then as it went on I realized what happened.

I live in the Central time zone but I get it on satellite so I guess I get the benefit of mistakes!

They must have fixed it on the later show... I was up at 2 so watched it... again.
I read the things, and it was accurate, saying the Al Gore's daughter wrote the eppisode "A Lela Of Her Own"

They also mentioned the name 'Roswell that ends well' in another pre-comercial thing.  They said another tentative title that later became 'Roswell that ends well.'  Sorry I can't remember it any better than that- did anyone else see that comerical break thing?

I thought that was weird. But 3 hours later when they showed it again all the cards said Happy Father's Day. I don't have a dad so I don't care.

I noticed that too and was going to start this thread but then I noticed I was already in my pajamas and just thought meh, what the hell. Also last night, I foget what episode it was, but when Harvey Birdman was showing, they were advertising the wrong episode, and again for ATHF, so apparently it happens alot.

Heh Heh, silly Adult Swim people keeping the old cards from last week that only apply to one episode.

I know, I saw it. First I was like, oh, Leela's Homeworld won an emmy, good for it! Then it started talking about Fry and the Nasty in the Pasty, and I groaned at how silly [as] was being.

Yes. If "Leela's Homeworld" of all episodes had won the Emmy, I'd have to take every single member of the academy and give them electroshock treatment.

That's pretty much necessary anyway, considering Three Gays of the Condo beat Jurassic Bark. Urge to kill... rising...
