Hello All,
I'm not particularly interested in athletic competition, but I'm curious.
(As if the thread title isn't enough) So far we've seen Blernsball in FOABP and LOHO, Basketball IN TKOS, horse racing in LOTF, and the Olympics in Bend Her, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
What other instances of sports or sporting events are there in our favorite show?

They play Volleyball in When Aliens Attack.
They go skiing in X-Mas Story.
You see wrestling in Raging Bender.
Fishing in The Deep South.
EDIT: Golf in 300 Big Boys and The Sting

There is excessive limbo-ing in Flight To Remember, if you want to count that as separate from the olympics in Bend Her.

Also, the video game in Bicyclops looked more like a sport than most video games (I know I wouldn't last long...).

One last thought: do ape fights count?

I would think ape-fighting would be a spectator sport. Speaking of which, there's that form of racing in LLLiS...you know, the guy who Amy tried to set Leela up with?  I forget the "offical" title

They mention squid fights too.

Man, I wish we'd seen more blernsball.

Frisbee in "Time Keeps On Slipping" (that is if you consider frisbee a sport (if you don't, watch out for the banstick  :p))

Chess in "Xmas Story" (what? It's a sport.)

If we had a movie called Baseketball in our time, does this mean 1000 years from now there will be a movie called Blurnsketball?

if chess is a sport so is the wierd chess played by bender and fry at the beginning of an early ep, think its loves labours. also another sport would be skeeball, virtual skeeball, virtual virtual skeeball, and football still exists i think coz hank aaron 23rd is still the worst footballer.

If ape and squid fights count, then horse racing presumably would as well.

In a deleted scene (I think) from "A Bicyclops Built For Two", there are kids playing blernsball in the street.

I've had enough of that after "Leela of her own". That kinda ruined the whole sport for me...

Leela and the Professor are playing this futuristic version of Scrabble on "Fry And The Slurm Factory."

Its either making fun of or is a tribute to 3D-Chess or 3D Tic-tac-toe.

Also, I think Leela's words almost spell Futurama.
