DVD might be great, but I'm not buying a DVD player just to watch Futurama when it comes out. My TV isn't that great anyway so the higher quality would be less noticeable than if I had a better set. Bender01...get dancing you're at the top of the page

Yeah not only is the quality better on dvd's, you have the option of jumping tracks/episodes like on a CD... without having to wait 10 minutes for it to fastforward like on a tape. And you usually get some fun extra options on DVD.. they like sticking behind the scenes stuff or interviews or extras on there for ya. That's always nice.

I think the best part of DVD's is the sound quality.

*Is very confused*
Unless several posts have been deleted, the only mention of the Simpsons was to say it is worth the money to get the DVD...that sounds positive.

Umm, I think I trashed the sets in my second post. For a show that's been going for over 10 years the extras(not counting the commentaries) were very few. Infact it only took me around 20 minutes to get through them bit of a dissapointment really. where were the other shorts? where was the documentaries or making of featurettes? And the easter eggs were incredibly easy to find. Don't get me wrong, it was great to have the episodes in DVD quality but I just would have liked more extras.

I'm really looking forward to the Futurama DVD's. I rarely get to see them in the UK, and the episodes we get are probably heavily edited like in America. It'll be good to see the proper things how Groening intended.

Something to do with the fact that Fox 0wnz the rights to put the Simpsons out for a long time, so the Futurama DvD's may not make it until their American contract runs out, somewhere in 2004!

the reason the US can't get the DVDs first is to do with syndication rights. A show has to be going 5 years to go into syndication and video or DVD releases have to wait until the show's in syndication. Because the shows are bought by other channels in the UK, no such rules apply meaning they can be released as soon as they've aired(even before, in the case of Friends) As for the Simpsons DVDs, I certainly don't regret getting them, the DVD transfer is very good and the commentaries are fantastic fun. btw, another easter egg can easily be found here: *go to the "art of the Simpsons" on disc 3 then click left and bart's comic will highlight. click enter and you will access a few magazine covers featuring the simpsons*

I can't wait for Futurama on DVD! I wish someone would freeze me until January the 29th so I can have them now. The packaging looks great!

Having these in Canada on DVD would be amazing ... but I'll wait until Region 1 is available even though I could get these to work on my computer.
I have a feeling it'll be a long wait though.
