Billy West called into a local Dallas radio station this morning to pimp the new Popeye thing he's doing (he's got the 1930's Popeye voice down cold) and was asked flat out if new Futuramas were going to be produced for Cartoon Network.

His answer - a very DeNiroesque (and yes, noncommittal) "I hear things...".

Earth shattering news? No - but at least it's another voice from the inside who should know if people are talking not saying "no".

Also - he did some very funny quick Fry, Zoidberg and Brannigan shtick. Overall - a good way to start the morning.

Funny guy, that Billy.

We know he's spoken with Matt about this before (he mentioned it on his forum).

We know many of the lads are still interested...

it's the suits that have to take the bait, now.

Thats a cool little story Damitol. I wish i could have heard it too. I hope it was a sign of things to come, but who knows with Futurama... Maybe Mr. West was just doing a little joke and wasnt really serious (But god i hope not!)...

At this moment in time I'm more interested to hear Billy's Popeye.

I don't think this changes anything. The people behind the show want to make more of it, and the people calling the shots are fucking stupid. So it's still an uphill battle, but no one's giving up.

Listen to the "Where The Buggalo Roam" audio commentary just after Zapp's introduction to the Wong's.

One one hand it's not a direct "hell no!" for future Futurama episodes, but it's really not any more substantial than what we already have from other sources (Billy Wests MB for one). Still nice to get a tiny glimmer of hope, even if it's just a fools hope.

Don't tell me what to do, Teral, you know I'm as obsessed with those commentaries as you are (even if I don't quote them as gratuitously as you do). I meant I wanted to hear Billy's Popeye in context.

Ah, then the balance of the world is restored once more. The only explanation I had for having to remind you was that you were distracted by something more important, like the Apocalypse.

You mean the Apocalypse that happened inside Billy West's first microwave?

[Fry] You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless! You've got to hope even more and cover your ears and go Blah blah blah blah blah![/Fry]

the only way to get futurama back is by getting fox to sell t to cn but it is never going to happen unless the guy who own fox dies and the guy who takes over is a huge animation fan lol but still it ant going to happen so lets just injoy life until it does come out again

I'm a hugh fan of Billy West and it's times like these that i hate living in Australia, i would have loved to hear that. Although we are hearing more and more about Futurama coming back, so that's got to be a good sign, right?

I'd like to say that in the pictures on Billy Wests website, he looks notyhing like Fry.

This dissapointed me, observe:
