Cohen's new project is not  good news at all. That means that  Futurama has no chances to be revived or that if it will be back he won't take part in it's creation.

It's not official that the "The Poor Bastard" series is going to run, it's just a project it is yet to be decided that it will be on T.V.
Come on FOX do something good for a change, don't let "The Poor Bastard" series go ahead and bring back Futurama!!!!

Just because of this new show, that doesn't mean David Cohen can't work on Futurama. Seth MacFarlane's doing Family Guy and American Dad at the same time. It can be done, I'm sure it's just very stressful.

Na, how hard could being the executive producer of two shows on opposite networks be?

HBO is developing a potential series from 'Futurama' co-creator David X. Cohen

I'm afraid I don't follow your logic.

I agree, in the one of the commentries Mr. Dave Cohen mentions being quite ill and having to take time off for being exhausted whilst making the show. Season 1 DVD's I think.
So its very possible, at a stretch...

Well Matt G. exec'd the Simpson's and Futurama at the same time, and was massively involved with both too! So I have high hopes that Mr. Cohen can do the same, if not better, if given the opportunity.

Either way, HBO needs some GOOD cartoons, and so does FOX.

*and with contacting the old cast.. It would be cool if they did some kind of re-commentary of some (season 4) episodes with some MIA VA's like Katey Segal, Laruen Tom.. or just more Futurama!

Seriously folks, I love Futurama too, but let's not bash this program 'til we actually see it, what hey?

Well you don't actually know that until you see the other new show.

anyway someone else can act as executive producer
Keeler and Kaplan (assuming they come back) are probably the best of the senior writers and may be a good choice and capable of performing the role.

good point User_names_suck. David X is great, but there are others who could be just as good if given the chance.

Question? when Season 4 coming out in america cos that's what FOX cares about, right. So I think if any official word of the show returning will be after that date. *crosses fingers*

Well the Season 4 DVD has a tentative release date of late this fall early winter in 2004. So in other words...we're gonna be waiting for a while.

If The Poor bastard fails...or if it doesn't. It's a HBO project. And HBO shows come on every eight months. Four new episodes.....eight months later. A new episode.

This is quote from the comments section in the news on gotfuturama.com. I think if this is true then DXC could certainly do both shows.

Another comment on the gotfuturama news section said that someone had heard that Futurama was returning no later than 2006, which would mean sometime next year.
but it's not very trustworthy, i just have a REALLy high optimism.

He must have heard it from his uncle's, cousin's, sister's garbageman, who knows this guy who works in a chinese restaurant who knows this guy who delivered pizza once to one of FOX's corporate meetings.

I got it from here: http://www.gotfuturama.com/cgi-bin/Comments.cgi?action=show&NewsID=1082624248,77821&Page=1#ctop
It's a reply to the news article about Billy meeting Matt in LA. I sent him/her e~mail asking where he/she got this info but the e~mail just got sent back to me. So I left a comment in that news section but whether he/she will ever return to the comments section, we may never know. :/

Na, it's a Canadian magazine.  "FUTURAMA IS BACK" means the show was coming back on the air in Canada. Teletoon started airing reruns a few months ago, ala Cartoon Network.

The magazine article itself just had a breif history of the show, a breif summary of each episode (going by McSeasons), and ended with the starting date and time on Teletoon.

If they can bring Family Guy back then they can damn well bring Futurama back as well. They should just replace all the fucking reality shows with Futurama eps. Then maybe it will reverse the mass liquification that's been going on with the brains of the public at large.

I could say it's a plan by the Bush administation to reduce people's brains to porridge through reality television but i won't. But if Futurama doesn't come back eventually i guess i would have to do something desperate and crazy.... Write a letter!
