a season.

with a movie, we get 1 1:30 hour story, which would be good, since it could be developed way more than any episode.

but 22 22-minute episodes would be way better.

As much as I'd love to see Futurama on the silver screen, I'm pretty sure any movie would be direct-to-video/DVD. Only people allready fans of the show would pay to see it in the cinema (plus maybe a few straglers lured in by the "From the guy that brought you The Simpsons" tagline), and that's most likely not enough to make a profit.

New season it is. And think about the DVD set we'll get, with audio commentaries, extras, easter eggs, tablereads, etc.

I'd definately prefer another series. The movie might have a weak plot whereas with a series there will be the opportunity to see the team in several situations.
Also the series would result in longer screen-time + DVD possibilities.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible for Futurama to be picked up by another channel for a new season, i remember it used to show on channel four, maybe there's some hope there?
If a Futurama movie was released, and as long as it was written by the writers of the series, it could be a good idea to release it straight onto DVD as a sort of feature length episode.

^It's very easy to say your going to air a prime time cartoon on a major network, but unless you have the experiance and resources, like Fox did, it's very hard to get an animated program to the high quality that Futurama had.

I would like to see Futurama on the big screen but theres so many things in a season that can show what happened after the end of TDHAIPT like or the movie or season could start just after when Fry played the holphoner at the end.

Edit: 2 new seasons would be even better

I doubt very much that Channel 4 has the sort of money required for such a venture.

^I think i would have to agree after all of the "100 best -blanks- ever" programs that they've been doing presented by Graham Norton and suchlike. These seem to be low budget clip shows as replacements for real programs, allbeit there have been a few new and decent shows on channel four such as "Garth Maraenghi's Darkplace" although that was pretty low budget as well. I did notice while flicking through the TV guide that they are airing old episodes of Futurama in the early hours...so your right not much hope after all.

Ok what the hell are you talking about U.K t.v station is not going pay for the production of American series.
and Channel 4 has been just as bad as Fox with the scheduling.

I would like a movie (around 2 hours 30 minutes) wrapping everything up. EVERYTHING.
Kif and Amy.
Fry and Leela.
...and every other thing that needs to be closed.

ok a new movie would be great and so would a new season but ignoring the fact that there is more in a season. say 90% of the stoies they use are bad 1 movie 10% chance of flop 22episoeds at least 20 are going to be good!

but i still have to agree a movie is much more likley and there is a good chance that a movie could spawn another season

I'd love to see a movie of Futurama, but i guess another Season of it would be better because then there'd be more Futurama to watch, and more would be better than less (obviously).

It would be better if you had a seson, cause then you could have a three part (or four part) episode, which could almost be as good as a move, and you get all the rest of the eps in that seson as well.

A season would be better because it would mean more Futurama than a movie. Also a season could be extended to increase the number of episodes, whereas movies have to fit into limited time slots.

Movie, definaltey. At least if it was in the theatres. Just IMAGINE it...watching it on the big screen. The excitement of the first night...eeee. :3 Just seeing them all on the big screen, surround sound, the crowd laughing at the funny parts. Just watcing it with a crowd of other people  on the big screen would be the best experience. I would become poorer than I already am buying tickets to go see it twice a day. Man...I would even just watch the series on a big screen with a crowd of other die-hard fans and pay for it.

Hmmm, I was going to say new season but seeing it with a whole theatre full of other Futurama fans...the sheer energy would be great! Maybe they could do an extended Anthology of Interest, like regular episode length stories instead of the cheesy-poof size ones we got with the series.

i don't really care at this point, i'm so desperate to see new futurama and new everything, i'll take whatever i get, but if i got a choice, i'd say new season. but then again...movie=money making, money making=dumbass fox realizing futurama was the best damn thing to happen to tv, that=the posibility of new seasons, so i don't know, probably season though because some movies suck horibly, expecially those made from the ruins of wonderful tv shows

I think I'd prefer a new season, but by a very small margin.  Ideally, I'd like a couple new seasons, then a finale movie.
