for April fools, Adult Swim drew moustaches on their shows, and Futurama was of course no exception -

Wow. This whole night on Adult Swim was awesome. lfv, you dont happen to have the pic of Leonard Nimoy with his glasses on do ya? That was the best one. Another great one was of Fry and Bender in the suicide booth. Best April Fools joke ever by any network. It must have taken forever to do this on all of thier shows.

Well, it was pretty funny, but I wouldn't go that far.

The best April Fools' joke ever was the year that Cartoon Network showed Screwy Squirrel all day.  Not different Screwy Squirrel cartoons, mind you; the same Screwy Squirrel cartoon, over and over and over.

Speak softly. Drive a Sherman tank.

Thank God.  I thought I was the only one who saw them.

They should stick the 'stached version on the S4 set as an Easter Egg.

yeah, that'd be great. i would love to see SP3k on the season 4 dvds for R1. one question for anyone that saw it: was it done well? like, was each frame edited with a moustache? or was it put on the screen, and sort of followed the character around?

The moustaches were superimposed, badly, over the broadcast. Sometimes, the characters moved and the moustaches just stayed where they were, or they'd appear in the middle of nowhere and the characters would kinda walk into them.

A nice bit, though: When Fry's in the freezer-doodle, as time passes outside the window his 'stache slowly gets darker and thicker.

What about Gene Shalit? He owns the rights to that moustache. I could swear I saw a Gen Shallit lookalike yesterday. Scary stuff.

That's such bullshit. I was watching it last night and they didn't put moustaches on anything I could see. But then again, I just kept flipping back and forth between Futurama and cheesy porn on scrambled Cinemax.

I guess you could say I was pulling a Bender.

You've done it now. Hand over your heart. I'm going to make you watch me eat it.

Why couldn't they have pulled this gag tonight? Does it have something to do with the fact that most of it is on the moon and it would be hard to see, or would it just be funnier on the pilot? Who knows. I sure don't.

Did they only do it on the ones past midnight? Because when I was watching Family guy at 10:00 (11:00 eastern) I didn't notice any moustaches. Because if it was past midnight, technically it is the only time that they air shows that is on April 1st.

I stayed up to watch some of the anime shows, just because I wanted to see more mustachioes.  There was a bald dude on Witch Hunter Robin with a mustache on the back of his head.  Also the shikon jewel in Inuyasher had a mustache.  And I saw a crow with a mariachi sombrero.

Yeah, it started at midnight with Witch Hunter Robin, so only the second showings of Family Guy and Futurama got the moustache treatment.

Now I'm not confused anymore.  This makes perfect sense and explains why I didn't see mustaches on Futurama without concluding that I'm hallucinating.  Does this mean we can expect mustaches on the first showings of Family Guy and Futurama tonight?  Any east coast people watched it yet?

Yes, I did, and no, you can't.

I guess that they didn't think that it would be funny twice.
