How about the gang going to a slipknot gig, where only the masks are in the jar
but to be far the music picked for the show fits in well, and i defintely would have TATU in the show, cheesey pop would ruin it
or we could ask our favourite export to pick the music Simon "High Pants" Cowell, that would scare viewers.

Mike Curb Congregation: Burning Bridges (It's the Kelly's Heroes Theme) To be used in a scene where the PE crew are fleeing some large horde of angry aliens. Offtopic: If you haven't already done so, head over to PythOnline and download the FCC Song. (Second Banner from the top.) Doesn't fit into Futurama, but it's a good one.

A lot of ELO songs fit the spirit of a scene in sound but the lyrics don't quite fit.. "Mister Blue Sky" reminds me of Bender somehow. God knows why. "A Livin' Thing" is sort of Morris/Munda/Leela.. "People are Strange" by the Doors is quite Leela indeed.

Actually, People are Strange could fit any of the characters at some point. But as a whole it fits Leela's situation best. Even if she isn't a vampire.

damn you zoidberg74!!! i just cars out of my head, but on a different note most of the crap new bands people are suggesting wouldn't give the rights to the songs to futurama... and has been stated some people, i.e. me, wouldn't like it... as for 'Don't you forget about me' it worked because it was a song from the breakfast club soundtrack, where phil II got it from, through yancy XXXVI, and it expresses the emotion behind phil II's naming... and yes oingo boingo is always great... although not in futurama. also more 'funkytown' morbo-style would be good...

Well, if I couldn't get Danny Elfman to do an original score, I would go with the following:
Kou Ohtani - "Prologue - AC192 - Xmas Eve" from "Gundam Wing Endless Waltz" - I don't care much for anime, but this is a good soundtrack. This particular piece of of music makes me think of Futurama more than anything. The first half is electronic and orchestral ambience that makes me think of Fry's 1000 year slumber. The latter half makes me think of his awakening, first a theme for his mix of enthusiasm and fear that the future brings him, and then another for his attraction to Leela. I can see this for the opening credits to a futurama movie, with stills that recap the events of the show.
Kou Ohtoni - "Left over smell of Summer", from "Gundam Wing" - Makes me think of the PE ship flying over the NNY bay during a beautiful sunset. Very relazing."
Claude Debussy - String Quartet No. 1, 2nd Movement - Zoidberg's theme, no question.
Dave Grusin - Theme from "The Goonies" - Bender's theme, for lack of a better idea.
Danny Elfman - "The Ice Dance", from "Edward Scissorhands" - Score for a shippy scene.
