Im not sure if this has been stated before, it probably has, but what if there was a petition written to FOX, and signed by people who DEMAND Futurama be brought into production once more? If there would be enough signatures or something, they might be able to bring it back? Yes, No? Family Guy was cancelled and is being brought back, or so I have heard, why not Futurama, quite possibly the best show ever!

No. Sorry.

It's been done by our very own www.gotfuturama.com.  FOX just simply ignored it. Tons and tons of handwritten requests. Ignored! No reply! No courtesy form letter shunning them off! Zip.

It was tried, people collected thousands of signatures to save Futurama but Fox took absolutely no notice.
Futurama is dead and will probably never come back.

There has to be something that we can do! Maybe some one knows some executives at FOX, and can hand the petition to a higher power.

Apparently they've decided a good business idea is to make viewers hate them.

The petition was delivered to Matt's office at The Curiosity Company (or was it FOX?) and they delivered it to the FOX execs. You don't get much higher than that. Still we where ignored. Futurama is dead, let us rejoice in the memories.

Another one of their great ideas are all the crappy reality shows, there so redundant.

I admire your optimism SurGun but Futurama ain't comming back any time soon. Fox is a huge corporation, a petition of thousands makes about as much impact on them as a mosquito does on a Sherman tank.

Maybe Cartoon Network will bring it back if the ratings warrant it.  Just a thought.

I don't mean to cause offence, as you guys are all fairly new to this site, but all of these issues have been run into the ground, pissed on, buried, dug up, the corpses raped, then re-buried upside down.

Futurama is dead. Sad but true. Cartoon Network simply doesn't have the funding for the show, and even if it did, re-uniting the entire staff would be an impossibilty given how they're all otherwise employed after 2-3 years away from Futurama.

It's gone.

I hope your right! If thoes dumb Executives at FOX dont want Futurama, why won't they just sell Cartoon Network the production rights? Im preety sure they would make a lot of money off of it.

Oops, posted after someone replied. Sorry

Chances are CN could make money off it, and in the end Fox could end up losing on the deal (since CN pulls in more money than Fox sold it for)... It's a bit of an evil... line.

I heard somewhere that the futurama petition was the largest petition to bring back a TV show ever!

If my memory serves correctly, we had like 150000 sigs on it..

----
Even more.  :)

"News of the show's cancellation spurred a huge petition drive to save the show with more than 160,000 signatures gathered, a record for TV petitions. But unlike other shows rescued from oblivion, Fox was unmoved and let the show run its course. " http://dvd.ign.com/articles/432/432838p1.html?fromint=1

----
160 thousand signatures has to have been deemable as economically worth continuing the show. In other words, as has already been declared time after countless time, there had to be something else than money that caused them to can it.
