What connects:

"I Second That Emotion"
"A Clone of My Own"
"How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back"
"Anthology Of Interest I"
"Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles"

It's not something that Bender says.   no no

It's something that's seen in most of these episodes.  In "Anthology of Interest I" it's something much more obvious.

"Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles" is sort of a borderline case, which may or may not count.  Feel free to ignore that one.

Could it possibly be references to D&D?

Yes it could.  In fact, it is.   big grin

For extra nerd bonus points*, can you name each of the references?

* The points are worthless.  It's just for fun.

HHRHGB: the beholder
TMLH: Pazuzu is a D&D demon
AOI I: Gary Gygax, inventor of D&D
"A Clone Of My Own": Young Farnsworth is wearing a Dungeon Master t-shirt

Can't recall anything from "I Second That Emotion" at the moment.

It's a rust monster (and ironically, it appears to be the pet of a robot).

Good job on the other ones, Teral.  That's four hundred experience points for you, and one hundred for Morberg.

DavidCohens1fan, it's your turn to ask a question.

Thank you. Hehehe, yes, I did play some D&D when I was younger LOL

My question is easy: What year did scientists change the speed of light?

Ummm... incase you haven't noticed, all of the questions in this thread are "What connects the following episode" questions. That's why this whole thread was created - there was already a general Futurama trivia thread, and they wanted to make one especially for "What connects the following episode" questions.

Although for the record, the answer's 2208.
