Yes. Very annoying. Channel Seven treated Futurama worse than Fox treated it in America. Although, if channel seven HAD shown the remaining season 4 episodes, I wouldn't be looking so forward to the season 4 DVD coming out next month. Makes you think..wait, no it doesn't.

Good point, Dumbsworth - I suppose that if I had taped all the Futurama episodes from Channel 7, I wouldn't really have an excuse to buy the DVD with all the convenience and extra features and stuff. So I was really really annoyed at Channel 7, but I'm so glad that we actually can get the episodes, even if we have to dish out $70 for them. Come on, Feb 18th....

Yes, but Channel 4 in the UK still hasn't finished airing Futurama Season 3 (The FOX McSeason 3). We're still waiting for "I Dated A Robot", which they're refusing to show for some bizare reason. So we still have McSeason 4 and McSeason 5 to go!

The Australian TV problem is not such a big deal because we get the DVD's earlier than most anyway. So missing the TV shows could be a lot worse.

What the...!? $35? *checks Sanity.com.au* Wow, they're on sale! I'm definitely getting these when I go into town next! THANK you, Chay's Head! This'll make waiting until Feb 18th just a bit more bearable!  :D

Oh, well THAT'S intelligent.

Put it on lay-by or order it in or something. They're more inclined to actually save one for you if they know you'll actually buy it.

That's why I said "put it on lay-by OR order it in or something." Put it on lay-by if it's there, if not - order it in, or do something similar to that.

I bet you got a much better timeslot though.

Anyway, I've given up on Channel 7, I've seen every episode and I'll soon have all four seasons on DVD.

11:30 wasn't such a bad time slot, at least it wasn't put on at 1:30 like MAD TV. I didn't think it was possible for a great magazine to be turned into a completely pathetic and unfunny television show. Then I saw MAD TV.

Rrrr, stupid Sanity people!

I went in there on Saturday - I was so excited - I was going to get Season 1 and Season 2 at that great price (I already have Season 3). They had massive "Sale!" banners up. I looked in the DVD section, and there was the Season 2 box set behind some glass. So I asked the shop assistant to have a look at it - and it was $100! I asked her about it, and I told her that the website said those sets were $35.99, and her eyes goggled, but she said that they were definitely still $100, that it must have been the single discs (uh-uh!) and that she didn't know about that. Hey! That's not fair! What made it worse was that she was a Futurama fan herself (when I was looking at the box she said that Season 2 was her favourite season, but that might just have been to get me to buy it) and she had no idea. Rrrr! I don't understand - but on the Sanity website, it did say that those box sets on sale were out of stock, and that they would be in by Feb 18, so I'm thinking... hmmm, maybe they're going to have a Futurama sale when Season 4 gets in, or something... but they really shouldn't have advertised that price before a sale, without specifying the sale, or whatever it was... does anyone know what's going on here? Has anyone successfully gone into Sanity and bought the box sets for $35.99 each?

i tried to get them but only season 1 was in, i already have it, but if it was in id expect the same thing, i also checked HMV they are doing the same thing for $40, i think your right about the season 4 thing, on HMV you can buy 1-3for $60-$90 ea., or you can pre-order(as they say) season 1-3 for $40each, i might just order it and wait until feb 18th. what sanity did you go to?

Having it cut is bad, but I reckon 6:30 is a better time than 11:30. At least you don't have to stay up until midnight to watch.

I don't know when your primetime is though. Here in Aus daytime TV ends at 6 and primetime is about 7:30 - 9:30, I've heard it's later in other countries.

The one in Perth City (on Murray St). So, HMV's doing a similar thing? And Sanity's having a Futurama sale? That's a shame - I thought it would be great to be able to get Season 1 and Season 2 before Season 4 as I probably won't want to watch the former once I get the latter.

Gah cant believe i didnt see this thread before.

Dolcelannah if you wanna get the DVD box sets then go to JB Hi-Fi. I got all three seasons so far there and for way less than $100. I got season 1 and 2 for $40 each. So definatly check it out. Also they have a lot of copies too.

Also be careful when buying S3. Make sure you keep your reciept. The australian S3 batch was screwed and i had to return mine. It should be ok now but just keep the reciept so you can take it back if need be.

If you got any more questions just check out futurama chat (yep that link on the bottom of the page). i'm normally there.

Hope that was helpful

Um, well I went to JB and they were all out of box sets, and when they come back in they said they'd be $79.95.

And I already have Season 3. All discs work fine, luckily  ;)

But thanks for answering!  :)

In the US, primetime is 8-11.  Also, is channel 7 owned by News Corporation?  That would explain why Futurama is getting treated like fecal matter.

Hey i'm a futurama fan from perth.
I got season one from K-mart Garden City in Booragoon - wasn't too expensive.
Season Two cost me $94 from Myer in Garden City.
I think i got the last box set of series 3 in JBHIFI and that cost me around $75.

I'm pretty sure Sanity in carousel in cannington they have series 1-3.  Also one of the best and easiest way to get them is on ebay!  I've pre ordered my series 4 set from there and it's getting sent to me on Feb 18th, it cost me $82.50 which i don't think is too bad.

If anyone needs any help tracking them down in perth let me know cos I'm always looking and i've seen them around lots of places.  A new place called Galaxy has opened up on canning highway in como and they have series 1-3, not sure about the price tho!

JB Hifi is your best bet in perth. In the hay street mall. Dont get them from major retail's. They're too pricey.

Kmart are almost always cheaper than Target.

I got my season 1 DVDs from Big W Mirrabooka for about $65, and 2 & 3 I got from Kmart Morley for $75.

Kmart Morley also have a table with the Futurama season 1 & 2 DVDs advertised for about $63.
