I wouldn't say that the majority view TDHAIP as a not-so great episode, itsn't it the highest ranking episode in the CGEF rankings?

Anyway I thought that the beginning scene of "The Cryonic Woman", with Bender and Fry taking the PE ship out for a spin was very good.

I thought the Casino under Bender's giant statue in 'A Pharaoh To Remember' was a nice touch.

I loved the scene in Spanish Fry with the alien abduction tube being a parody of the 3D Pipes screensaver. Seemed really out of place in that episode though.

Yes, but, other than Leela's opera dress, the episode is hardly something I approve of and easily the most overrated in the entire series.

There was a scene in Bender Should not be Allowed on TV where a laptop talks about how TV producers really feel about reality TV shows. I thought that scene was great.

Oh, was that the bit with Executive Beta, "programmed to roll the dice to determine the fall schedule"?

Executive Beta: (rolls dice) MORE REALITY SHOWS!

I love Executive Gamma too, "programmed to underestimate Middle America."  :laff:

"Its funny but will it get them off their tractors?"

That made me laugh and I don't know why, because I know nothing about the different regions of America. Could someone explain?

"Cryonic Woman" is a good episode up until Fry and Michelle freeze themselves.  After that it goes downhill.  I'm normally pretty good with U.S. satire, but I don't have a clue what all the L.A. jokes meant.

What's so bad about TDHAIP? It's one of my favorites.
Oh, and the end of A Leela of Her Own (which I enjoyed, but others didn't) with that old coke commercial parody, was funny.

I'm not sure if it's considered a bad episode, but in The Problem with Popplers I loved the panel discussion with Leela, Fishy Joe, and Freewaterfall Jr. and when Zapp is tricking the Omicronians into eating a monkey, thinking it's Leela.
This post was brought to you by Fishy Joe's. .....Ride the walrus.

edit: I just checked gotfuturama.com and saw that it got a 93% rating. Oh well....

every episode has some good scene in it, even my least favorites have some decent, funny scenes. One in particular: TCW has two great scenes I can recall- the beginning, when Fry and Bender fly around the world, and when Bender, Leela and Fry are asking for their jobs back with Bender in the ape mask...     :laff: Though the rest of the episode was mediocore.

edit, because those nofx song titles are getting to my head....

I personally loved it, but some people thought it was too far fetched for a Futurama ep, or didn't like musicals in a tv show, you may want to check threads with Devil's Hands debates to see why...

i also think ALOHO is underrated....

The opening scene in The Cryonic Woman where Fry and Bender steal the ship and fly all over the world. That was an amazing bit of animation.

Also when Fry, Leela, Bender and Cubert rescue the Professor from the Near Death Star. That was great stuff.

TV and movies have lots of references to LA and New York City, as if everyone is supposed to care about them, even though the majority of people in just the USA haven't even been to those places.  "The Cryonic Woman" is an unfortunate example.  See also: "That's Lobstertainment!"  (Who outside of LA would really even understand the subway joke?)

How come LA still has a subway anyway?  Aren't they obsolete by the time of Futurama?  I guess they also still drive cars with wheels, though, so maybe LA is just generally behind the times.

They should be obsolete, but as "That's Lobstertainment" lazily displays, LA hasn't changed a bit in 1000 years.

One of my favorite little gags in 'Thats Lobstertainment' is, as Fry and Leela sink into the tar pit, Fry spots a caveman-esque skelenton and says, "Oh my god! It's Sylvester Stqallone!" Also when Fry and Leela do finally arrive at the big Hollywood shin dig, dripping with tar, and the doorman initially turns them away before letting them in and saying "I see you're with Mr Stallone". Great stuff!

Leela in the slave girl garb in "A Pharaoh To Remember" and the "We're dumb" scene. Apart from those I have a hard time finding any redeeming qualities about APTR.

When Hermes have to think for w few seconds before he decides not to blow the rest of the crew into empty space in "The Farnsworth Parabox" is another good example of "great scenes in not so great episodes".

A Pharoah To Remember aint that bad.

What about the bit when Leela and Fry pretend to forget Bender - that always cracks me up.

And tha fake funeral - 'louder and sadder'
