Does anyone know what sounds were used for the Hypnotoad?  I can't even think of one thing.

The Millenium Falcon's engine sound, played in a continous loop. Don't look at me like that- *I* didn't figure it out!

Nope. it's the opening sound effect from "Yar's Revenge". I used to love that game...

I'm guessing that's a truly ancient game, from the ancient past of tape drives and WORDSTAR interfaces.

Hey, your site kicks ass! You've got the best episode synopses out there. A bit spoily for those who haven't seen them though. I couldn't agree more with the star-ratings though. The site also contains everything you'll ever want to know about Amy Wong, and much, much more besides.

From what I remember of the Falcon's engine noise, it was noticably higher pitched than the Hypnoise

i think i heard somewhere that many of the guest voices and sound effects from the Simpsons were used in alot of futurama Episodes, it almost sounds like a lower pitched that could be heard at Homer`s PowerPlant

Yeah, the hypnotoad's sound is cool, but it's also annoying. Imagine hearing nothing but that sound, 24 hours a day. Wouldn't you want to kill it? :D

Just completely worthless, but it was funny at the Monaco Grand Prix one of the track-side cameras had a faulty sound system, so as the cars went by it sounded like that hypno-toad sound.  :)

If you don't hear a response, that just means no one's listening, not that they're threatened by you.

But Britz, take it easy. Flaming the troll for every response, is being a troll

Apologies for bumping this old thread, but I've got a question.  I've found sounds similar to "Angry Machine" on a couple of Hypnotoad web pages.  I've listened to them, and I think they're all from the sheep herding scene in "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid."  They all have bleating sheep and ringing sheep bells in the background -- none are the "pure" sound effect, IMHO.

Does anyone know if "Angry Machine" is available somewhere?  Or is it on the DVDs?  TIA.

I have a hypnotoad widget for my dashboard that seems to have a pretty pure version of the sound. Anyone know how to go about extracting it?

The sound of hypnotoad is actually a carrier wave that is used as a navigation beacon.I had a vintage 50's multi-band receiver that would pick up this sound in the shortwave ranges.I believe it's still in use.

You can probably find a MIDI or mP3 of it somewhere on the internet.

Here is a link to help you find it.
