Her birthday is Jan 19, 2975. And if the show ended in 3003 that would make her 28.

so then in one ep. (not sure which) when leela says "I don't want to die at the age of 25" she could well be telling the truth unless there was en episode before it saying it was 3001

The answer is that she's 28 years old (She says she's 25 in "Brannigan Begin Again" ).

I don't think Leela is entirely truthful about her age in BBA, and Bender's reaction seems to support that. At the very least she's 26 during that episode.

And then there's the problem wit the Fountain of aging and all the time reversal and skippin' in that episode.

"I think I might be a couple of years younger."
But no matter what she said she has only existed for Twenty 5 - 8 years.

She was telling the truth. BBA happens 2 eps before xmas story and if xmas story was Fry's first christmas in the future, which obviously it was, and Leela's birthday is in January then she would have been 25 during BBA. Bender was just being insulting. I'd be surprised if he even knew when her birthday was.

Well, if the calenders are canon, then that's a good explanation, would fit Bender's personality to just be mean in a life-and-death situation.
