Wow...
Tiberius doesn't even start with a J.

But for the rest of you actually paying attention to details, I like the middle name James too. It has a nice ring to it...

Philip James Fry

Welcome to PEEL, twenty_pence!

It looks like Jay is gonna be the winner of this middle name.

Great...another Matt character with the middle name Jay.

QOR, I really wish you'd stop making generalizations. If you read the who thread you'd notice not EVERYONE is saying Jay.

well fine not EVERYONE is saying Jay but its still 60% and I honestly don't think that there would be as many people saying Jay if it wasn't for Homers middle name in The Simpsons being Jay!

this topic is getting old, time to steer it another direction, what other names would suit Fry, or Fry's character? I'll start, what if Fry's name was Jim?

acutally now that i think about it (i alrready voted for jay, tho) james does seem like a good name for fry.
although my little brother's middle name is james, and he's really stupid.

no no  no no  no no  no no  no no

Exactly but thats why everyone is saying Jay i think, maybe not intentionally but probably subconsciously because it seemed so funny in The Simpsons, it should be James, I think...

In M*A*S*H B.J.'s parents names where Bea and Jay, so they called him B.J.  I think it's a sitcom thing, animated or not. Ergo, Philip's middle name must be only J.
Then again, altough it is a sitcom, it's also a science fiction show, and didn't the Great David X. Cohen teach us that nothing is as it seems in a science fiction show?

What is Michael J. Fox's middle name?

He was, but they changed it to Philip as a tribute to Phil Hartman.

Do they ever show Fry's full name? Does Fry just say "I'm Philip J(ay) Fry", or do we ever see it actually spelled out as Philip J. Fry? That being said, I think his middle name is Jay.

roll eyes  You people do realize that Jay isn't even a name, right?  It's just a nickname.  It's usually short for Jason.

Do you think most Americans would care about that?  wink
I've read once that - in the USA - you can give your children nearly every possible name.

Anyway: I thought that Fry's middle name may be John or probably something creative like Johannes.
Or what about Janzey? Who is saying that it has to start with an Y?  big grin

I think "Jay", basicly because Homer middle name was "Jay" and it's based on the same thing.
