Leela's boyfriend Shawn

How come we've never seen Leela's boyfriend, "Shawn"?  He's only been mentioned twice on the show as far as I can remember. 

Was Shawn just an off again-on again boyfriend for Leela?  I would've liked to see Fry beat Shawn, or Shawn ending up with Michelle or something like that.

I see shawn as kind of like Nile's ex-wife in Fraiser: always talked about, but never seen.

he was mentioned 3 times. in WMIBACIL, L&R, and DHAIP. But we never see him. He was a guy Leela was apparantly madly in love with who cheated on her so she dumped him.

Yeah, every sitcom has to have one of those characters.  Ugly Naked Guy in friends.

There was another thread about him here, but it turned into a general discussion about Leela's romantic life.  There has been much more discussion about him in general Leela topics.

We don't know much about him, except that he cheated on her and lied to her, and that their breakup wasn't pleasant.

What do you mean "unpleasant"? It was a mutual break-up that was totally mutual!
