In the scene in The Why of Fry when he asks that brain what happened to him on the day he got frozen, what planet did the brain say the other Phillip J. Fry was from?

Too bad we never saw the other Fry in an episode.  It could've been a hilarious case of lost indentity!

He was from Hovering Squid World 97a.

Since the other Phillip J Fry is a hovering squid, I don't think the chance of a mixed identities episode were all that good.

Plus, we already had a similar scenareo to what KurtPikachu2001 suggested, in 'The Farnsworth Parabox'.

It might not be a case of lost identities, but just a coincidence in names.  Lots of people have the same names.  For example, just looking in the phonebook for my area, there're are several Will/Bill West's, a John DiMaggio, a David S. Cohen, and at least a couple people with the last name Groening.  It's pretty funny, I think.

I want to know howcome people don't mistake Fry for the Original Martian.

That happened over 900 years ago... I doubt people would remember the name. Most people can't even quote the name of the first man on the moon, and that was only forty years ago (You think I'm kidding? Try asking 20 random people at your local mall's food court.)

*Asks 20 random people he sees at local mall food court*

*Gets arrested for causing a disturbance*

That being said, wouldn't Farnsworth be a direct decendent of "The Orginal Martian" Philip J. Fry?

What I wonder is why the brain couldn't also have confused Fry with his nephew, Phillip J. Fry.

"wouldn't Farnsworth be a direct decendent of "The Orginal Martian" Philip J. Fry?"

Yancy may have had other children.

The reason the brain didn't confuse him with is original martian is because he did not exist on the date in question, he was not born yet.

"wait, did his nephew have the "J." in his name "

yes

Correct.

Incorrect.  He was several centuries dead by that time.

I'm just amazed that there were only 2 Phillip J. Fry's in the entire UNIVERSE on December 31, 1999.

I hope that was joke.

I mean it's clearly a joke, but sometimes it's hard to tell with you Norwegians.  ;)

I'm more amazed we never heard anything from those hovering squids again. Maybe the Decopians squished them. Too bad, it could've made a great ep.

Why would it?  It's not like Neil Armstrong's family owns the moon.

What are you firing at, bob...? (and I don't mean your avy), are you a desperate conspirationist. (I actuall just made five typos in a single keystroke- amazing, but irrelevant)
But no- Good old Mr. Armstrong did not claim the moon as his own, dumbass, he could have scored big on behalf of his descendants.

Speaking of which, we never found out the what Fry's J. stood for.  We know Bartholomew Jojo Simpson and Homer Jay Simpson, but what about Phillip J. Fry?  Hmm....

I have an idea.  We'll vote from a list of nominated names.  The winner is how we will refer to him from then on.
