Hey, how about a new classic episode?  This one's been up for what, ~ 5 years?

That's crazy talk!

PEEL wouldn't be PEEL if we were expected to give our thoughts on new classic episodes that actually, well, changed from time to time. New feature-length epics, perhaps ("All-new" ones even). But not new classic episodes. "The Box says 'no'."

Why do people persist in coming along and asking that?

There are some that have not been enlightened to the objective fact that Raging Bender was the best Futurama episode of all time. As long as there is ignorance, there is those who will ask questions, and from that, there is hope.

I love this episode! :D The movie theatre moments are straight down hilarious, and all of Bender's wrestling moments were great too. Fnog is also a great character, with many funny lines! :laff: (

Also Destructor was really funny, MWAHAHWAHAHAWHAHA!!! Overall I'd give this episode an 8.5/10

I like Raging Bender.

But let's compare it to a similar episode shall we? A Leela of Her Own.

Both episodes involve a main character taking up a futuristic sport. In ALOHO (I which I pronnounce as "Allo-ho" in my head), Leela becomes a Blersnball player. It's a dreadfully boring episode that doesn't make the most of the setting. Even YLL at least made a slight attempt to use the setting properly.

Raging Bender on the other hand does. It's got robots fighting, Sexist fly aliens, and the cinema scene. Oh, and Brainslugs. If Futurama insists of have sport-focused plots, then this is how they should do them.

8/10

I also just realized that every episode I referenced in this post involves Abner Doubledeal.

I consider the movie scene to be one of the best scenes on the show, simply hilarious...:laff: "Down in front!"

8.5/10. This was a great episode. There's some aspects I didn't particularly like.

First, the episode is highly predictable. If you watch half-way through and see he's becoming a wrestler, then you know that somewhere along the line, he's going to be up against somebody really bigger than him. Destructor did the perfect job filling that role.

Also, the Leela training Bender subplot wasn't exactly spectacular. It was pretty good, but I didn't see much to enjoy from it. Not until the end at least.

Anyways, onto the things I loved:

Seeing the Brain Slugs for the first time in this ep was classic. I liked how they stayed around the entire ep. And the movie theater scenes were pretty much classic.

Seeing Bender become a wrestler sure was fun to watch, but part of me says they could have done a better job with those parts.

So all in all, I think this episode deserves the 8.5/10, or 9/10 for the polls.

Technically, seeing the Brain Slugs for the first time happened in A Head in the Polls.

Oh yeah. But it was the first (and only) time they had any kind of role in an episode.

Probably one of the weakest episodes of season 2. It's certainly not horrible, but it's not amazing either.

It's the best episode with Abner Doubledeal though, and Phnog was funny.

This is tied with "Bender Gets Made" as my least favorite episode of season two. Like UrL said, it's not awful, but I definitely wouldn't say it's very good.
This one's only around a 6/10 for me.

This episode is great. I thought it was really funny and I always enjoy watching it.

8.6/10 so 9/10 for polls.
