WOW, I can't believe someone else finally said this before me...i think that's about the first negative comment i've ever read about Roswell. The Roswell episode is very much loved around here...but I always thought the same about the time travel kinda, and plus I just didn't find the episode as funny as many others. However, I just about fell off my couch laughing when Leela and the Professor go into that store dressed in 1947 garb--the Professor with his feather....

Hmmm...I always loved this episode.  Don't know much about the writers "Embargo" on time travel, but this episode set up 2 of the "Brain Spawn" episodes, which I also enjoyed as well...

The writers talk about it on the DVD commentary for the Roswell episode. If time travel is possible, then you'd have to have some other plot device that prevents people from the 30th century from visiting the 20th more often. The way it's handled in Roswell bypasses this, since the crew travelled back in time only due to a very rare event.

And come on, Zoidberg's exchange with Truman was priceless!

Truman: Are you here to make some kind of alien-human hybrid?
Zoidberg: Are you coming on to me?

It's hilarious!  There's more:

Truman: Hot Crackers!  I take exception to that!
Zoidberg: I'm not hearing a no...

leela heavy episodes seem very emotional which i can understand can turn some people off seeing how wild the show can be. but back to the Rosweel episode, i love it and it has to be one of my favorite episodes. it has so many funny things that happen. i mean Truman breaking through a wooden case is just perfection

Yeah i agree, the roswell show is great. When i started collecting the DVD boxes. I bought the third season first just because that episode.

But there is one leela heavy episode i like, and that is the one where she gets two eyes. There is alot of Zoidberg and the Professor action in that one. I like that alot.
And the Dr.Adalai/Adalay (not sure of the spelling of his name). He is so normal and boring it makes him funny.
"I was in the area having one of my Hawaiian shirts toned down". Great quote.
Also that episode has one of the best comentator tracks.
Love it when Dimaggio sunddenly calls out: "YES! WE HAVE LOOKING AT TREES!"

I have to say "Obsoletely Fabulous". There is just to much Bender in it. Now don't get me wrong I like bender as much as the next guy but their just isn't enough of the others in the episode. I still think it's funny, (especially the caddyshack reference) I just think it's the least funny of all the episodes. It just shows how great Futurama is that the worst episode is still great.

Roswell I enjoyed - interesting plot, great jokes and a nice potrayal of the characters. It's a fantastic episode to use if you're introducing someone to the series. However, as a diehard fan, it doesn't it exactly stand out to me - but it's still very good, and how anyone could call it the worst I simply don't understand.

1: Its really not *that* funny
2: It was hilarious when I was 11.

I agree Fry was out of character in 'A taste of Freedom', then again the whole show was a parody on the hysteria that can come with unbridled mindless patriotism, in that sense probably most of the characters were deliberately out of character.

a taste of freedom is really strange i mean its got its funny parts but its not an episode id recomend,a pharoh to remeber is pretty good but i can only say that i watch that episode just to listen to the in character commentary that billy west and john dimagio do. i also think thats lobstertainment is pretty bad i really dont like seeing it so i always skip it thank god for DVD

I used to dislike Godfellas too, but after watching it for the hundredth or so time, I like it more and more. "Bonder?"

I think the worst episode is The Sting. The only part of that episode I like is the virtual golf. I can't stand the entire part that is just Leela's subconscious or whatever.

I thought The Sting was really cute, but I don't think it was very humorous.  Someone who really isn't focused on the plot wouldn't appreciate it as much.
