In the third panel of page 5 in the "crap that no one wanted" story, Homer holds up a Bart Simpson comic with a cover showing Homer angrily reading a Bart Simpson comic. If you look closely at the comic Homer is angrily reading, you'll notice that the "Fry me to the moon" promo for Futurama comics #15 is on the back cover   :).

BIG FAT FREAKIN' UPDATE:

Okay, I got my copy of Bart Simpson #13 today and it had a promo for #14 and it turns out that that's the cover! It's actually noticable in the cover version. The only reason I spotted it in #85 is because I have sharp eyes and an obsession with The Simpsons.

I just wanted to let you know that "Hail To The Cat" will be the next Simpsons comic so you can look out for Fry or Bender in the background.

Another reference in this month's issue.

In the newest issue of Simpsons Comics (#95, "Coach Me If You Can" ), there is a joke involving Homer trying to get on the Krusty show. He makes a list of possible catchphrases, and one of them is "Bite my shiny metal ass"   :D

Of course, the word "ass" is cut off, but you could tell what he meant.

I saw Fry in another Simpsons comic. I forget which number it is, but it's the one where Springfield gets divided into upper and lower Springfield, and when they're building the wall, in lower Springfield, you can actually see Fry running around in the background near the top left corner of the page. If you read it, look closely.

Hey, I never noticed that.

I also thought it was a special story to be printed in Royale. I guess it explains why issue 50 wasn't in the latest reprint.

Hmm, It does look like him but i'm not sure if it's intentional or not. His hair looks a shade or two off, don't you think?

Very interesting.

and he has yellow skin..globviously

In Ooy's pic I don't think it was intended to be him, or maybe the colorist was a Fry fan. If it was intended to be it would be scripted and so more distinct. Since different people did the drawing, inking and coloring, it's entirely possible they all had different ideas on what the charaters looked like and it's only a coincidince

Hmmm...If that's so, then it's a mighty big coincidence. Is he wearing sunglasses? I can't tell, but the eyes look sorta funky...

He's not wearing sunglasses. And I just remembered that in a Simpsons halloween comic where everybody in Springfield has a realistic twin, if you look in the background, Fry is in there, except this time, his skin isn't yellow, and I think it does not look a THING like Fry. He looks, like, 15 years older than he's supposed to be.

The realism Fry looks a hell of a lot more like him than the other pic. I found the real one in the comic a while back too

I just said that. It's the whole reason I bumped this thread.
