2. I dont think i could give much more of a hint without it being brutally obvious. but in case you hadn't guessed, it is about bender's ego, not just bender and someone else's ego.

well, maybe i could give a little hint...
the similarity is not really part of the main plot of the episode, it's a detail. not a small, nitpicky detail, but more of a joke off to the side.

Two guesses.

How Bender feels is controlled by Leela, in ISTE by the empathy chip, and in The Sting because it is actually her dream.

Bender provokes violence in both as a result of his insults.  Nibbler bites him and a bee stings Fry and Leela.

actually, here's another big hint:
it has to do with text that is seen in the episodes. I suppose since no one can seem to get this, you can watch the episodes.

I know that it has fallen for the 24-hour rule, but I'd still like to humour Zeep by making a guess at his original question:

In ISTE Bender made a cake for Nibbler that said "Happy Birthday Nibbler from Bender" IIRC and in The Sting there was a garland with the text "RIP Meatbag - from Bender" at the funeral. In both cases the word "Bender" was much larger than the rest of the message.

In each of the three, one of the main characters plans on leaving Planet Express in some way.

In the Why of Fry, Fry plans to stop himself from having been frozen, so he would never have joined in the first place.

In Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, Leela plans to stay as a child rather than be re-aged.

In Crimes of the Hot, Bender supported the plan to destroy all robots, including himself, choosing to go to the 'Party'.

In The Why of Fry Nibbler takes Fry to his planet to stop the Brains from destroying the world.

In Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, the Professor is looking for his Gargoyle ZuZu (or whatever it's called).

And in Crimes Of The Hot Bender has the turtle which was on it's back in Holland

The part about a tale of two santas has put me off this theory but im sticking with it!

does it have something to do with various methods of transport (stupid way of putting it)??
in crimes of the hot the robots are travelling on the glapagos queen (its something like that) to the islands, in the why of fry, fry is on a scooty puff jnr. then a scooty puff snr., in teenage mutant leelas hurdles fry and leela are in the fanboat, and in a tale of two santas bender has santas sleigh.
thatwas a crap attempt at a connection but this has been drivin me nuts and i must get it
