Let's just say that Cartoon Network did by the rights to the show (Futurama) but because of lack of funds there where new voice actors and crappy (cheap) cartoon network style animation. However the same writers where there, the same wit and deep storylines where there, just that the voices sounded different and the animation was cheap and dexter's labratory looking. Would you still watch the show (which I personally would)?

No more then I would want to re-animate my dead friend in order to ask him a question. I'd rather remember it as it was then see a dinked down cheap version.

No, I wouldn't. I fell in love with Futurama as it was, I would hate to see it cheapened to death just for Cartoon Network to get ratings.

Also, the topic title should say "were" not "where."

I'd hate to see it changed too, but so long as the wit and storyline remained i would still watch it... it would take a fair bit of getting used to though.

I would have to see the level of quality remaining. If it was enough I probably would.

You know, I used to think that I would want to see it back in any form, but no, if it does come back, I'd rather have it back as it is, not cheapened.

Billy West is a good 50% of why the show is so great for me... Futurama without him, would not be Futurama.  Think about those crappy nouveau Scooby Doo episodes (so gross)... it's a disgrace.

Can you imagine no 3-D effects? Sub-par voices? It would be an atrocity to say the least.

I'd watch, and I'd probably enjoy, but not as much.  Aprt of the show's appeal is it's got the best animation TV's ever seen, and an amazing voice cast.  It would be like the TV show spin-off of a favourite movie.

Hell no! The animation and the voices are part of what makes it so great. Futurama needs all of its qualities to be quality programming.

Futurama was great because (1) the writers/producers came up with genius material, then (2) an amazing group of voice actors brought their words to life and finally (3) the artists and animatiors created wonderful images that were seamlessly augmented by amazing 3D sequences to give the show a very unique look. And don't forget - Futurama is one of the few shows, animated or otherwise, to use a real live orchestra to provide a unique score each week.

Each episode cost US$1.3 million, and every penny was up there on the screen. (Which means if every person who regularly watched Futurama on Cartoon Network ponied up about $18, we could have financed a 22 episode fifth production season.  But that's another story, and legally impossible to do.)

No.  It would be like those 70's bands that are touring with only one original member.  What's the point, except trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of a concept that was great back in the day.  More sad than anything else.

I'll just stick with my 72 original episodes rather then seeing their value diminish by some tacky "Futurama Lite".

I wouldn't watch it, I wouldn't want it to stain my mind. Although I might just watch the first ep out of curiousity, afterall, it's the curiousity company  :p
