Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV was great, however you failed to put the S3 commentary "Beat-Box" version on the poll  tongue.

I can't remeber the Mars U one too well, but the BSNBAOTV remix was awesome "Zoidberg ZZZZZoidberg".

Then again, I always loved the original. Coolest theme song ever.  So since no one's voting for it, I will. After all, it is the original.

The Mars U techno remix. I actually thought that the beat boxes were a bit lame.
Don't get me wrong I found them funny (as a fan) but they just wern't mixed that well 9the voices were a bit drowned out). They'd have been better as commentary tracks on the DVD's. Actually that could be pretty funny when John and Billy start singing along to themselves on the DVDs.
Oh and the original is great too.
Didn't Less Than Hero originally have a remixed theme? I just remember ages ago that somebody who saw it at the Comicon way before it aired, said it had a remixed theme. Fox aired it as the original though. Do you think the DVDs will have the remix?

I like the original theme the best.  Of the beatbox remixes, the one on the S2 DVD is the best, IMO.

For me, the original theme just edges out the MU remix.  Does anyone besides me bob their heads, beat time on their knees, etc?  I can't keep STILL  smile

The beatboxes are fun, but thank ghod they were only used a few times.

Me too- I bob my head, and form my hands in to the Kona symbol (two middle fingers down, thumb, pointer and pinky up) and bob them up and down.  So do all my friends.  I love that theme song.  Even though the Simpsons one is a classic, this one is SO much cooler.  smile

BTW, Kona is a skate park in Jacksonville, Florida.

The original. Does anybody actually know why the tune was different in 1ACV11, 4ACV06 and 4ACV17? I'm just interested...

1ACV11 was an experiment. They were going to do a different remix of the theme for every episode, but they found that the Mars University remix, while sounding good in studio and on DVD, was very difficult to hear over TV frequencies.

4ACV06 and 4ACV17 were probably influenced by the remix DiMaggio and West broke into on the commentaries - it's just a bit of fun had by the staffers.  wink

Because they wanted to be different. It was great when they did it on the commentaries on the DVDs too.

On S1 DVDs they mention they were going to remix the tune weekly, but after how awful the first one sounded on airing, they scrapped the idea.

I was undecided about the Mars U one and the Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV one, but I've eventually decided that I slightly prefer the Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV version. Not by much though. I love them all and they all rule, but I really like the BSNBAOT just that tiny bit more  smile

I like the original, but the full-length is a much better than the TV snippet.  (Plus sailor Death productions made a Nadesico video with the full lengther.  Yee-Haw!)

I'm apparently the only one who likes "Prepare for the stereophonic experience" of Spanish Fry.  I think they are all good (Mars U is very good if you have a good stero and DVD), but something about Spanish Fry just works for me.

Well, it's hard to decide. As good as the beatboxing is, I like the 1ACV11 version a lot. Personally, I would have liked to have heard it in more episodes - the into's cool, and the last bar of the chimes sounds particularly cool with the bass notes muted.

4ACV17's mix is a little quiet for my tastes, as it's an a capella (sp?) number. But 4ACV06 is better than that due to the other characters that also sing ("Z-Z-Zoidberg...Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z""This is a story about all my friends!" ). I still say it'd be cool to hear a longer remix of the theme - about 4 minutes or so - with about 30 memorable "Futurama" quotes spliced in (especially with "Welcome to the world of tomorrow!" over the opening notes).

Original - the crispy and extra crispy versions are fun to hear from time to time, but the original theme IS Futurama.

I voted for the Mars U remix because its the one that sounds the closest to my actual favorite remix...the opening for the Futurama game.  And it even has "Welcome to the world of tommorow!" in it.

Where would I be able to find that?  Is it available anywhere on CGEF?

EDIT - Oh, and I prefer the original theme.  While the beatbox versions are great, you just can't beat those bells.

I love the "Bender should not..." remix because of the Zoidy scatting, but the original has a certain 'je ne ce quois' that can't be beaten.
If I can find a recording of it, I'll post a jazz improv solo I had to do a few weeks ago, where I laid "homage" to the Futurama and Simpsons themes.

Mars U is my preffered. Something about it appeals to me...

Agree with AG. The game remix does kick ass. And it's much longer too! Though my favourite track in the game is the NNY theme... but that'll be for another thread, another day.
