does anyone know why katey sagal doesnt do any other voices? is it because they already have talented actresses like tress to fill the spots, or was she just picked because her own voice is what matt et al were looking for for leela and that one character was all she was required to do?

I think it's just that her voice is so distinct, like Yeardley Smith on The Simpsons.

Shes not a voice actor, she was just perfect for the role of leela.

The only time I think she may have done another voice on Futurama is a single line of "SYSTEM ERROR" when the Lucy Lui-bots all explode with popcorn at the end of I Dated A Robot - I'm not sure, but it seems to match her tone. I suppose to get Katey who has a slightly deeper voice to fill in one ad-lib is much easier than messing about with tones with several recordings of Lucy Lui.

She did Lee Lemon as well. 

Katey isn't a professional voiceactor, and I guess her range is limited for that reason. She's using pretty much her normal voice for Leela and she's perfect for that role. Maych the character wonderully.

But since recurring characters need to have the exact same voice every time, it's done by experienced professionals, like Maurice Lamarche, Tress MacNeille and Billy West.
