I think Jurassic Bark was nominated, but I'm not totally sure. Someone here will know for sure.

Yes it is Jurassic Bark that was nominated.  I do not however know the air date for the Emmys.

It's 13 September.  I don't know if it's televised, though (this is the Creative Arts ceremony, where they give away the less publicized awards).  And the voice-over award should be announced before then.

The creative arts was not televised last year, so I doubt they will be this year.  E! would be the only possible place.

No networks don't air the Creative Arts Emmys.

Well, the voice-over award has been announced.  It was given to Hank Azaria for his work on the Simpsons episode "Moe Baby Blues."  Azaria has actually won this award twice before for other work on The Simpsons.  Oh well.  There's always next year, I suppose, and Jurassic Bark still has a chance.

YEah. We'll have to keep praying. Anyways, the other nominees going up against futurama don't stand a chance. Some get a little credit for content, but futurama blows them away in the whole animation part.

They don't judge it by the quality of the animation itself, just the quality of the program as a whole.  That said I'm rooting for Jurassic Bark, and feel its the best choice, but its hardly a shoo in.

Azaria's nom for Moe Baby Blues is fine with me (this is the first I've heard of it though).  Great episode, great voicing...I'm rooting for him.  Edit: Actually, I think being nominated in that category automatically means you win.  But nonetheless...

He wasn't nominated, he already won it. The voice-over award is one of those special recognition type thingies.

Here's how the press release explains it:

"These Emmys are juried award categories, which have no nominations. The selections are made by a panel of expert judges. [...] [T]he voice-over panel consists of both animators and performers with voice-over credits. Juried award winners are traditionally announced before the Emmy Awards and presented at the Creative Arts ceremony...."

I suppose they discussed other actors and episodes of other shows, but we don't know what they are.

The post above was actually my 500th.  I knew I had 499, and when I went to the Emmy site I was thinking "Wouldn't it be neat if my 500th post was an announcement that Katey Sagal won for 'The Sting?'"  (I haven't seen that episode of The Simpsons, but I'm still sure Hank Azaria's performance wasn't as good.)  Then I saw the actual news.  Darn it.

Since The Sting was aired after the Emmy Deadline (May 31), there's still a chance to get it next year.

Oh right, I had forgotten about that.  Actually, since this award is different from the others it may not follow the same dates (though "Moe Baby Blues" aired May 18).  But it's probably eligible.  Still, I would have liked for someone from Futurama to have won, especially since this is Azaria's third time.

Whatever you think of The Simpsons' current writing, Hank Azaria is still absolutely brilliant, and deserves this award.  That said, I'd have preferred a nom for Billy West given that Azaria did already have two, but basically I'm fine with either getting the award.  If Dan C got an award for the Robot Devil you'd all be cheering (and conversely, you'd all be complaining if he got one for Simpsons).

Not all of us. I like the vocal stylings of Dan and Hank. He's cool. I just like West a little better.
