I have to say personally 3ACV is my favorite. It has some of the best and some of the worst episodes of Futurama, but all in all i think its the best.

4 by quite a long way.
Then 2, 3, & 1.
Although I love them all, so 1 being at the bottom of the list hardly means I hate it or anything. I'm glad somebody has finally opened a poll that judges the real production seasons, not Fox's tangled mess of so-called seasons.

That's exactly the same order I'd put them in too.

Although Season 3 had some of the worst eps, overall it was an amazing season, full of veriety, and loads of my all-time-fave eps. It also showed a whole new character and emotional depth. Season 2 is absolute quailty throughout. Season 1 is where it all began, and I loved how everything was new to Fry, and us as well. And Season 4, although still great, for me it showed signs of a drop in quality. It has some of my fave's, but also some stuff crept in that I didn't like where it was heading.

Anyway, that's my reasoning for the order I put them in  :)

It's hard to comment, because I've watched the other series so much more than S4.

S3 if I have to pick.

I like 3acv the best.  It was the season where there started to be a number of emotional/mature episodes.  I don't like about 50% of 4acv.  1acv and 2acv are awesome and so much fun to watch, but 3acv has an edge over them because of the emotional content.

Gotta say Season 3.

Luck of the Fryrish
Parasites Lost
Amazon Women in the Mood
Roswell That Ends Well

Need I say more  :) Season 4 is such a mixed bag that I couldn't pick it in good conscience. Still episodes like Parabox, The Sting and Why of Fry make my top 10.

Seasons 1 and 2 were no slouches either. It just goes to show what a great show Futurama was. It saddens me to speak of it in the past tense  :(

Season 3, followed by 4, 2, and 1, though all four seasons were better than most any other show on tv, animated or otherwise.

3ACV is where the show suddenly skyrocketed in greatness.  Don't get me wrong, seasons one and two were great as well, but they were gag seasons.  They were primarily just about gags and sci-fi parodies (with the occasional good social commentary, such as with "Big Peice of Garbage" and "A Head in the Polls", but those were the exceptions rather then the norms), and the characters were all pretty thin for the most part.

But 3ACV added new depth to all of them.  With "Parasites Lost", Fry became more then merely a dimwit contrived for our amusement and became more a "person" in his characterization.  Same goes with Leela.  The sci-fi parodies were still there, but some episodes actually took the sci-fi concepts seriously and used them in the stories, rather them simply making fun of Star Trek with them.  "Godfellas" proved the show's ability to philosophize, "Bird Bots of Ice-Catraz" proved its ability to comment on society like a pro, and episodes like "Parasites Lost" and "Luck of the Fryrish" proved its ability to be emotionally moving.  And episodes like the already mentioned, as well as "Roswell that Ends Well", "Anthology of Interest II",  and "Futurestock" among others proved the show's ability to be as gut bustingly hilarious as ever.

4ACV was unfortunately a slight downfall.  The greatest episodes were as great as ever, and "Jurassic Bark", "The Sting", "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings", "Bender Should Not Be allowed on Tv", "Leela's Homeworld", and "Where No Fan has Gone Before" were all great examples, and "A" episodes.  Still, some of the other ones weren't as good, with some like "Less then Hero" being fairly mediocre.  As well, it had the show's first true bomb in "Three Hundred Big Boys", which unfortunately was simply neither funny or interesting.  Still, the downfall wasn't as big IMO as some people seem to think, and the downsides were fairly minor compared to the greatness that would occur 80-90% of the time.

So, 3ACV wins, followed by 4ACV, followed by 2ACV, and finally followed by 1ACV.

season 4 had the least sap and most comedy,
and had a few more intellgent and elaborate plots as well. so its my favourite by a long way

although my favourite episode came from 3acv
which was Godfellas

you know i'm quite suprised people think there were more gags in acv1 and 2

i'm found 4 to be far funnier
especially less than hero
which has to be one of the most underated episodes ever
along with kif gets knocked up a notch
which was also very funny

I also agree with 3ACV. While there were some weak episodes, the good ones were really really fantastic. 4ACV is second, only because there were more 'eh' episodes than fantastic ones. 2ACV was solid all the way through. 1ACV, well, it's alright.

I remember when the big debate was 2acv vs. 3acv. People used the arguments they're using for season 4 now..."3acv had some of the worst episodes, but it also had some of the best episodes".

Now 3acv is the clear favorite. I have a feeling 4acv might play better with time, when we watch them in order on Cartoon Network or on DVD. But I still gotta vote for 3. Too many classic episodes not to vote for.

It's really, really close for me.  I like most of the episodes no one else likes, including much of 4ACV.  The episodes I don't like are mostly in 3ACV, but I still think that ones' the best, because it has the most sort of top echelon episodes, like Parasites Lost and Luck of the Fryrish.

If i had the S4 DVDs it would help, all the production seasons seem slightly blurred together  :(.

I definately preferred 3ACV out of the lot, with alot of exceptional episodes. 4ACV was also great with plenty of exceptional episodes, but not quite enough to beat 3ACV.

1ACV and 2ACV were good, very few "bad" episodes, just not as good as 3ACV and 4ACV.

Here, here. Well said.
Also, you're all trying to judge the seasons by saying one had more bad episode than another! Did I miss something?! Futurama doesn't do BAD episodes!
Oh  yeah and like I said before 4 is the best, remember it's not just airing season 5, so 4acv also includes Love and Rocket, Where No Fan...and leelas Homeworld! As great as Season 3 is, it just doesn't quite beat 4. I honestly love every single episode from season 4! They're all totaly brilliant.

Season Three for all of the reasons said above, although I can't be sure about that yet. That said, S3 did have my least favorite ever, the Buggalo one. I guess my order would be S3, S4, S2, S1.

Not have DVDs of 3 or 4, I can't properly judge either of them.
