Wow! Futurama made it to the top of the list. Even after the third (third, right?) airing run, Futurama pull in some amazing ratings.

Looking at the complete list, you'll see Futurama and Family Guy take 9 spots in top-10. CN must be happy about their gamble on those two shows.

How do you read these ratings exactly? I think I have some vague idea, but I just want to be sure.

Example: "#1 - "30% Iron Chef" - June 17 - 2.4/5 (2032)"

2.4 means 2.4% of all Americans who own a tv was watching this episode

5 means 5.0% of all Americans who were watching tv at that exact time, were watching Futurama

2032 means 2032000 American households were watching Futurama.

It looks like CN didn't get the June ratings back before made the decision to put the show on a sort of temporary hiatus after July 25th.  But it's nice to see Futurama coming back on CN soon, and before November  :).

I remember that CGEF had a link to TNN for the new Spike TV whatever to e-mail them to try to get Futurama.  Guess they thought the outdated Ren & Stimpy would be much better.  Good choice, eh?
Hooray for us, we get what we want sooner!  No shame in that.

Unbelievable.  I hope that FOX is kicking themselves.

Thanks for the explanation, Teral. Wow - 2 million people all tuning in at near-midnight just to watch a repeat. Take that, Fox!

I don't believe in ratings. There are three types of lies: bad lies, horrible lies, and statistics. Still, good to see that Futurama is doing well.

CN had already decided before getting the ratings that no matter how good they were, the show would go on hiatus after they'd run the whole thing.

They do that with all Adult Swim shows, so people don't get burned out, so they can continue to make money off each show for as long as possible. I think it's a good plan; I know I'd watch Futurama religiously every night until the cows came back from extinction, but I wouldn't want to see everyone else get burned out on it.

On a completely unrelated note, anyone know why they've decided not to show Ranma? They've either bought or at least seriously looked into every major anime series (come on, bringing back Lupin?!) except the most popular one ever--and they've even made references to that in the bumper cards (something like, "Looking for new shows... There doesn't seem to be as much good stuff out there as we expected... Suggestions? And nobody say Ranma. There's no way that show will ever appear on Adult Swim." )
