I'll continue to buy the merchandise and the comic series, which is here to stay. I'll look for any news on this site and CGEF. But mainly get on with my life and wait for the day in the hopefuly not too distant future when more episodes get made.
If this doesn't happen, when I'm an  animator (I'm starting my University course in September) I'll use my industry conections to talk to Matt and get the show going again myself if I have to!

Oh no, I'm not falling for that one. Keep your titles; I want a 10% raise. No, make that 20%.

The only freeway I've run down is the 101, and I wasn't even naked (a piece of advice: if you're going to get a flat tire on your scooter, be in the right lane, not the left). But if you think streaking down the 405 will help get Futurama on the news, I'm willing to try.

(By the way, when we Angelenos run naked down the interstate, we call it a freeway; a speedway is a race track. And you have to run even faster there.)

First, I'm gonna cry as I watch the credits.  Than, I'm going go into deep depression until Season 2 comes out on DVD.  In the meantime, I'm gonna watch Season 1 and hang out here with the cool people (That means everyone here).   :)

first off, I'll probably start crying- because of the possible shippy moment and then because of the cancellation.  Then exactly 24 hours later I'll laugh at fox for their biggest mistake they've evr made. from then on, whenever someone mentions fox, i boo.  loud and clear.  whenever i'm watching a show on fox (simpsons, malcom or if we're lucky a rerun) I'll throw rotten fruit at the commercials for Banzai and crap.  I'll start concentrating on the virtual seasons project and my fan fics more and get the season 2 dvd and continue watching tbs and cn reruns and reading the comics.  i'll try to get a team to go riot fox.  continue crusing on peel and other futurama sites, helping to keep them alive and i'll remember all the good times and good memories.  *sniff, sniff*

You must be joking... this is all a joke right? They cannot be cancelling Futurama. This is like a bad dream that I can't wake up from. Let me give you some idea of what futurama means to me. I am a recovering drug addict/alcoholic and cleaned up about the same time I first saw Futurama, it was the one of the few things that made me laugh when I was experiencing my darkest hours it ranked in importance alongside AA meetings and seeing my AA sponser. Me and my brother got to know each other again purely through Futurama and now have a good relationship (based around Futurama quotations, lol). I cannot believe Fox cancelled it I live in the Uk and did not realise until today. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh. I am going to find the Fox executive who made the decision and personally drive a screwdriver into his managment bullshit talking, short sighted, ill-educated , ignorant f*****g face with my bare hands. Matt Groening if you ever read this I love you, and please switch to another network and keep making it please  please    please... Oh well one day at a time. And always remember "What did you come to earth for?" "You know everyday I ask myself the same question."

demarcation86 you should send a letter to Matt Groening. Alot of us should, maybe he would be more reasonable then Fox. I found an address at http://animatedtv.about.com/library/extra/bladdress.htm

I'm just wondering what will happen to these boards once its all over.

Other than that, I will probably be very upset. Im inviting an old best friend from back east over to enjoy the episode with me and a few other friends.

@ Demarcation86: If, and when you apprehend that Fux Exec - SAVE SOME FOR ME!

I'll bring my blowtorch, and a pair of pliers...

I kid, of course, but I'm indescribably angry at whoever treated Futurama so poorly.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to step into my closet and swear for an hour or so...

Ok, so it was Islay Scotch.  I'll go home and switch to the Irish in a minute.  But what's funny is, now that "Devil's Hands" has aired (and I've been drinking), I no longer have this oppressive feeling.  In fact, I feel like Futurama has given us hope for the future, in the knowledge that time is never running out, nuclear winter will cancel out global warming, and we'll all meet again in 1000 years.

I can remember the Flinstones cancellation, Jetsons, Star Trek original series, and this ranks right up there.  Before the episode that covered Leela's parents, I wrote a movie fan fiction on another Futurama site.  Maybe, just maybe, some other studio like Paramount, would ask Matt to produce a Futurama movie.  Even more maybe, he'd use my old script as a beginning.  The show will be missed and my Sundays will never be the same.  But my contributions to the websites will continue and they will never fade away.  They will be FOX's "ghosts", "phantoms", "hauntings" and "nightmares" for years.

I no longer have this oppressive feeling.

I know what you mean.  I was so wrung out on Sunday... but as each day goes by, I find my grief turning into the wistful affection one feels for any bright thing that's over but still remembered.

As long as we remember it, it's not really gone.
