I grew up with the Simpsons, and watched Futurama from the beginning (just like the Simpsons). Though I will always like the earlier Simpsons, I can say with absolute certainty that I like Futurama better than the Simpsons. It has the freshness and quality writing that the Simpsons have lacked for some time now.

I started watching futurama, South Park and Family Guy at a time where simpsons episodes were sliding.  I still watch the simpsons, but it's lost some of it's charm over the years, even though some newer episodes are still pretty damn funny

The Simpsons really went way downhill in season 11 for me.

Ok, there is two similar threads here, but I'll just post here.

For me I used to love the Simpsons but the newish episodes I think aren't as funny anymore. I'll still watch them but I don't go out of my way to do so. But seasons 4-9 are fantastic though.

Apart from a few episodes I think Futurama is extremely well done. Obviously we don't know how things would go if it was entering its fifteenth or so year! But what I enjoy about Futurama compared to the Simpsons is it's more adult humour and topics. And the fact that it is very well thought through concept!

Futurama seems to be more of a thinking man's comedy, and this is the reason I prefer it over the Simpsons.

I don't think I could choose a favorite between The Simpsons and Futurama... I've watched The Simpsons everyday for 1 hour after school for as long as I can remember, and I've watched my Futurama DVDs almost daily for as long as I can remember. They're both very great shows, and I see the new Simpsons as just as good as the classics, and better than most of the shows on TV nowadays (except Futurama).

Futurama makes the writing on the Simpsons look second best.

The new episodes are just plain better the fact that they're running out of ideas makes the ideas they do come up with far crazier and therefore better in my book

The Simpsons is so effing crap compared to Futurama.

Come on, really, who wants to watch a stupid family of yellow people. The episodes are just so boring and unfunny. I can't see why its so popualar, its utter shite.

Futurama has more intelligent humour...and I'm starting to get a bit over the Simpsons.  Don't hate it, but just a bit over it.

Nothing comes close to Futurama, its brilliant, but The Simpsons is hilarious, although after about season 9 it started to get less funny and they started to re do story's, I watch Season 6 right now, im reminded how hilarious it was. its still great though

To me it seems like the simpsons has gone down hill in recent years. This is because of two reasons. First the simpsons have run out of plots and are dependant on guest stars. Two the new crop of writers are not intouch with the characters and generally lack the creative writing ability, and comic geneus that early eposides had.

I agree with most the people here, I grew up watching the simpsons and like the old classics alot, As long as I dont watch them too much.

I dont like the new episodes very much, havent watched one in ages! But once in a while a good one comes along.

Though futurama still beats all!

I like seasons 2-9 of The Simpsons a little more than Futurama.
