I thought this episode was good. Did anyone else wince when they threatened the lower horn with sharp objects? I thought they would deal more in trying to shut down the human horn operation. It was funny the way it was though.

Well, that was a funny and sort of wierd subject for an ep.  I liked all the horn jokes and the Bigfoot thing was just sorta puzzling.  But hell, they showd a map of BC and Leela drank a Canadian beer, that's great press.  Was I the only one in thinking that once the Omicronians saw Bigfoot they'd take his lower horn instead of Fry's based on his foot size?  Al in all a good ep, with some funny lines and great scenes.

Excellent episode. I think I know why the theme was different this time around. I heard on CGEF that since the episode (in production season order) is the second to last episode. So, they changed the theme. I just hope that "Devil's Hands..." has a better theme. Anyway, Excellent Episode!

Additional comments:

the theme was scary.

the lower-horn cutting-off device was hilariously painful looking

It was pretty good, I suppose.  My main gripes are that there were too many sex jokes (something that plagues The Simpsons nowadays as well) and not enough...well, OTHER jokes.  Bender's one-liners were great, but what was with Zoidberg's "Care to join Hermes and myself for some (finger quotes) 'just-friends' spooning?"  Are they insinuating something...?  Cause that's just...no.

Fry looked weird without a nose, I liked that!  And Farnsworth's response to it ("MAAAAN, are you ugly!" ).  But overall, the episode felt a little disjointed and empty overall.  Outside of Bender's "lower horn" zings, the laughs pretty much ended once Lrrr and Ndnd went on their date (it's odd, because normally I find Lrrr hilarious)...also, their sex scene in the end was kinda overdone as well.  Sorry PEELers, but there've been better this season IMO.  Not bad, but a little below average.

EDIT: Though I did love the professor's Sega Genesis line!  Hahahah!

Man All I have to say is:

"Huaaaaaaaaggghh!!!   :puke: "

What a train wreck.

Was the joke suposed to be that this is what an episode of Futurama would look like if they followed all of the FOX notes?

That was crap.

I'm giving that one an even F.

Total stillborn of an episode.
"The Family Guy" was funnyer.

I've seen some hostility towards the opening theme remix for this episode.  Let me clear this up - the theme was awesome.  Unbelievably so.  I'm glad I taped it.

My first impression of the ep is that it was funny, and it was filthy, but only occasionally too filthy.  DXC (I think) said during 4ACV production that the later episodes would begin to be more risque because they were essentially daring the network (you know the one I mean) to keep them on at 7.  So there's your explanation.  I have a low tolerance for sleaze, and it's one of the things I bitch about most about recent Simpsons episodes, but it just doesn't seem out of place here.  This isn't a kid's show, you know.

I'll have a clearer idea of how to rate the ep after I watch it again.

I liked this one quite a bit, especially the first act.  Highlights for me were Bender shaking the bird's nest from the tree and Zoidberg's "only friends" spooning comment.  It was nice to see Lrrr again in an episode.  It was also nice to see that bigfoot likes to watch.

The only bad thing was that I set the wrong date on my VCR so the episode didn't tape.  No rewatch for me  :(

No, the joke was "Look at how adult we can be" I, Roommate was the ep that followed all the Fox notes and they said it was the worst episode ever.

And the way you express your opinion of an ep makes me want to slap you. You're totally entitled to that opinion, but do you think you could have said it in a way that doesn't have everyone after your blood?

I watched it twice, and liked it better the second time.  It wasn't bad, but it's not going into my top ten (or even top twenty).

The camping sequence was funny, but there were too many Bigfoot jokes, just as there were too many penis jokes later on.  I like penis jokes as much as the next guy, but it got a bit tiresome.  There were just too many one-liner jokes overall.  The theft of and search for Fry's nose were good, but once the plot shifted to Lrrr and Ndnd it became pretty uninteresting.

Overall, an okay episode, but not Futurama at its best.

If so then it was in the fashion of a 7 year old dressing in daddy's suit and getting hammered on a can of beer. Kinda cute but in the end juvinile and embarasing.

I disagree. I wished to fully convey my disapointment with this episode. It was bush league. Full of nothing but tasteless one liners and wee-wee jokes. It was like a newer episode of "The Simpsons". No substance. No soul. It wasn't the Futurama I followed from the fall of 1998. While my ID card may say I joined PEEL this month I have been a part of the Online Furturama community since before the first episode. I've cherished this show from day one. And when I see something like this episode I get verry dissapointed. And I am entitled to convey that attitude as much as others are entitled to gush over it. And nobody should be out for my blood on acount of it. It's just my opinion.

The fact that most of the episode was set in the northwest was enough for me to love this epsiode. The map that highlighted B.C. and the "clean, crisp taste of this bold Canadian beer" were great. I also loved the remixed theme, although parts of it do get annoying after a couple viewings. I'm just wondering how this got past the censors. I still can't bring myself to really listen to Leela singing, it's just horrible, but on a whole the episode is great.

Leela's rendition of "I Will Always Love You" was absolutely horrifying.  That took real talent, to produce something that utterly dead-on pitiful.  We were screaming while watching it.

In the end it brought us closer together.

Edited for superfluous repetition of the word "absolutely."

THEME REMIX: Proof that DXC loves us. This entire thing was like a big, beautiful present. It was everybody who makes Futurama's way of saying, "Hey, fans! Thanks for sticking by us through all of FOX's BS! We appreciate it!" The use of AL1 was great, making the theme a special inside joke shared between you and the Futurama gang. Shut up, you know that's what you were thinking.

FRY'S HORN: The first time I read the description for this episode ("Alien poachers are after Fry's horn" ), I immediately thought they were referring to his wing-dang-doodle and thought it was hilarious. I was a bit dissapointed when I learned they were talking about his horn, but to me it made perfect sense when they switched to his... Uh... Lower horn.

Were they overdoing it? Maybe a little. But if it were Lil' BNLbum on the line, I think I'd overdo it a little, too.

ZOIDBERG AND HERMES: Ah ha ha, "Just friends spooning". This leads to an entirely new dimension for the Hermes/Zoidberg relationship. We knew Hermes hated Zoidberg, but we always just assumed there was no reason... Were we wrong?

IN CONCLUSION, while not one of the best episodes, it was a good, solid, "just for laughs" show. It provided an out-there adventure which really couldn't occur in any other show - and in the end, is that not what PEELers have dreamed about since first they tuned in to Futurama?

...Kif, I'm asking you a question!

This is oddly familiar to the ending of "Chasing Amy". not saying it was a ripoff.. but when Holden decides that he needs to sleep with Banky too, basically so Banky would stop being a jerk.

I think I'll have Fry's lower horn jerked... disturbing. But not as much as Lrrr and his woman doing it in the forrest.

Hey hey, that's like 4 real good episodes in a row. Looks like the Futurama writers got their shit together now. I honestly didn't think this one would be all that good but I was wrong. Bender was brilliant as usual but the hooting was a little annoying. Also, when Fry was in the cage, why didn't Bender just bend the bars to allow Fry to escape? Oh well, I thought Zoidberg's "Just friends spooning" was hilarious. I guess it is true that the final few episodes would be more risque than the usual just as Cohen said (I can't remember where or when he did), but that's good, after all, my "lower horn" or "lower trom'bone'" (sorry, I do play the trombone so I had to add that joke) will be happy.

Overall I give it 11 thumbs up!

Very funny non-storyline episode; I laughed - hard - throughout.  Well written & they weaved all those wang jokes in there very smoothly.

And "Spanish Fry" is a take on spanish fly, which is used as an aphrodesiac.

I thought this episode was a little slow at the start, and I wasn't keen on the Bigfoot stuff. But once Fry was abducted, it was brilliant until the end. I particularly like the porn shop, and Lrr and Nd'Nd (is that her name?). Bender's "Woo!" jokes were slightly overused, but it didn't bother me that much. I have a slight problem with the ending - I really didn't want to see the Omicronians get it on!

First off, I liked the theme. It was just something you wouldn't see any other cartoon trying or bothering. Shows that they had fun doing this whole Futurama thing. Second, the other episode with a special intro is "Bender should not be allowed on TV". As far as I was told, it's also a beat box by Dimaggio and West. Not sure if it's the exact same thing or a second recording.

On the episode: First act was real neat and paced correctly. From there on, a sub plot would've been nice to fork the action into something less linear and not have the horn jokes seem as forced. Still would rate it a 3 to 4 out of 5. Plot idea with the noses was nice and some great lines to make up for some of that.

First off, I don't know why so many people are ragging on the main theme...it was GREAT!  Bender's hooting and hollering various things, the sheer hilarity of
hearing someone "voicing" the theme in the first place...and of course the apparent alien language message (I don't know the language personally)...beautiful.

Anyways, same review as my NHC one:

Mixed bag. The first act was pretty slow joke-wise(and this episode was obviously "just for fun", so jokes are the main thing that matters when reviewing it). Act two was better, but not really laugh out loud funny. Act three was suddenly hilarious. I know I shouldn't laugh at sex gag after sex gag, but DAMNIT, I couldn't help myself this time. None of the acts seemed to have much to do with each other either, but the plot as a whole was pretty strange anyway, and this IS Futurama. Still, slow start hurts this one. I'd say it averages out to about a B-, I guess, but I'll need to rewatch it.

As an avid Penny Arcade reader, I support any medium that includes the word "wang" as a comedic reference to the male sex organ. Therefore, this episode rocked. 5/5.

PS -- "Wang casket" should be added to the dictionary or something. I'm serious; that had me on the floor.

(Here, because I'm really lazy, I copied and pasted my comment from CGEF.)

Hm, this one's a toughy to rate. The first two acts were really, really funny. I had a good time watching it. But, for whatever reason, the third act felt very weak. It's hard to explain what about it makes it so weak, but it definently has to do with the basic story structure. Also, I didn't like the bit at the end with the abominal snowman. But then again, as said, the first parts of the episode were a lot of fun.

3/5

And yes, though I had a couple problems, it was pretty high-quality for the first two acts.
